I always see when having a cue refinished that it includes 1 shaft "6 inches above the joint". My question is, can the 6 inches from the joint up be refinished and re cleared to make it look brand new? I have a Schon shaft that is extremely yellowed from age from the joint up to that 6 inch mark

Is it just me or does the upcoming ivory ban in California blow? There are a lot of well established as well as amazing up and coming cue makers in Cali. What do you suppose their material of choice will be to replace ivory? Will they turn to phenolic, juma, elforyn?
