For those of you using chalk pouches...what brand are you using?

All the ones I'm seeing in the states get mediocre reviews at best. I'd like one I can just clip over my pocket opening if that matters. Thanks as always!

Veteran men vs women players and today's tournaments

Something I was just thinking about and maybe I'm wrong. I notice in today's women tournaments you'll see a lot of the veteran ladies still playing. Fischers, and Korr and so on. But when you watch the men's tourneys you never see Sigle, McCready or Wiley or any of those guys playing. Is it...

Butterfly case where the cues can be removed without running over the zippers

I have a butterfly case I sort of like but it won't fit a 30" shaft and that's what I have now. The only thing I didn't like about it was that when you pull the cues out you have to be mindful of the zipper or you're probably going to risk scratching your cue up. Most of the butterfly cases I...

    Raven Cue Initial Thoughts

Just a quick first impression of my new Raven cue. I received it today and only have a couple of hours with it so far on my home table. This is my first carbon fiber shaft and also the first main player I’ve had without a wrap in probably 30 years and my first 30" shaft (that's what she said)...

Did Viking ever make cues without their logo?

I got this cue for my home table because it's a little shorter than a normal cue for people to use at the one post I have if they need it. Shoots well and is perfectly straight. My buddy thinks it's an old Viking. I have no clue.

UPDATE: Anyone have any tricks to getting a reply or call back from Cuetec warranty?

UPDATE: They got back and apologized for the delay and said they were at BCA Vegas. They wanted me to pack up the entire cue and give them the dimensions of the package so they can get me a return label. I'm been trying to get my cue covered under warranty and I've sent emails, filled out...

    Juma vs Phenolic joint collars

As I'm going down the cue makeup rabbit hole I have a question on if Juma is a decent material for joint collars. It looks sort of cheapish to me but hard to tell by look and feel. Is one far better or far worse than the other? Thanks as always!

Are LD shafts only really helpful on long shots w/ a lot of side spin?

Is that really when you'd notice the benefit of a LD shaft?

Jacoby MAG vs McDermott GS vs Viking Kayano

Last questions I swear...maybe. I'm wanting to go back to a maple shaft. I went to the cue shop today and got my hands on some McDermotts and Vikings. Was looking at the McDermott GS and Viking Kayano models. When I got home I was doing some more research and came across Jacoby MAG series but...

What cue manufacturer(s) would you say has the best customer service and warranty?

I'm in the market for a new cue because I'm not having luck with Cuetec warranty getting back with me so far. I'm looking for a cue under $500 from a manufacturer that has excellent customer service. I've been doing a lot of research and currently leaning at McDermott. I like that their shafts...

Why would I shoot better with my one piece house cue?

Ok so I'm pissed my Cuetec has a crack and I'm leaving it alone until I hear back from Cuetec on warranty. So I've been shooting at home with a one piece Pooldawg house cue. I'm shooting really well. My guess is it's because I suck and the 13mm shaft with a nickel round tip is helping vs my...

Less expensive Joss cues and quality?

Since my 2 year old Cuetec Avid has a crack, and it seems fairly common, it has left a bad taste in my mouth for ever buying a Cuetec again. I'm thinking of going back to a maple shaft and have been looking at a few different makers including Joss. I'm looking at something like the JOS02 cue...

Looking for a cue that plays like an old Falcon

I made a post yesterday about my Cuetec Avid having a crack and I think even if they'll fix it under warranty I want to be done with it. I've bought and sold a lot of cues and the one I sort of regret selling was my old Falcon. It was just balanced and felt good to shoot with. A lot of these...

Avid Cuetec Florian Kohler has a crack. Anyone experience this?

I've had this cue since first week of January 2024 and I baby everything I own. Have never broke with this cue and pretty sure it's never been knocked over. Just noticed a crack in the joint. I reached out to Cuetec to see what they'd say if anything. Anyone experience anything like this with...

Purpleheart shaft vs maple for dings - Break cue

I currently break with a cheap Action break jump cue and it has to be made of the softest wood ever made. I baby my stuff and this thing is constantly getting dings in it. I have more dings in it than I ever did with my 30 year old Falcon and Dufferin. Anyway, I was looking at a carbon fiber...

Does anyone know of a CF shaft with an Action Quick Release thread?

I have a cheaper Action break cue and looking to replace the wood shaft with a CF. Thanks as always!

Cuetec Avid shaft vs carbon fiber shaft

I have been playing with a Cuetec Avid 12.75mm for a year now and I like it but have been thinking of going to a 12.9mm or 13mm and carbon fiber. Looking at something like a JFlowers or Raven. My question is will I notice any difference going from the Avid shaft to a CF? I've only played with...

    Detroit area pool halls

What are some of your favorite pool halls around Detroit? I used to frequent Ball and Cue in Lincoln Park and Electric Stick in Westland but both are gone. Well most are gone. I've been to Snookers in Livonia and The Rack in Livonia but looking for some more decent halls to checkout...

How far away does the cue and OB have to be away from each other for it not to be a double hit?

In league last week I want to hit a straight in shot where the cue ball and object ball were an inch or probably closer to an inch and half apart. My team was telling me it was too close and it'd be a double hit. At what distance would you say it wouldn't be a double hit? I figured it was far...

    As anyone tried Yesglasses Masters

Will be getting glasses shortly and was thinking about a cheap larger set for playing pool. Saw Masters on yesglasses website and was curious if anyone tried them? I know I know there's way better more expensive alternatives but I'm not going pro here. Thanks as always!
