There's a smaller Duya Golden Nine event going on in Malaysia right now. The first place prize is only $20k USD, tiny compared to the domestic Chinese events. Aside from the usual suspects (Ko brothers, Orcollo, etc) I was surprised by how many 9 ballers joined. Johann Chua Baseth Mocaibat...

Let's say my robustness increased by 80. Is there a way to see what those 80 games were? This is NOT the same as the most recent matches in my history, since FargoRate does not always process games in order. For example, those 80 games could be from last week, last month, or last year. In my...

I saw an announcement that the McDermott Open was canceled today. This comes on the heels of The Empire State Championship getting canceled as well. I heard both might have been due to lack of signups? Also, Scott Frost posted on Facebook earlier today pleading for more signups for the Yuma...

I have two OB Pro+ shafts for sale. Both are 30" in length. The plain black collar is used but in great condition. Extremely minor taper roll, which I can share a video of. Most sellers would call it straight but I want to be fully transparent. 5/16x14 joint. $175. Sold The silver ring one is...

Just saw this flyer posted by the Duya Legends Tour. It's a golden nine tournament (basically 9 ball on Chinese tables). The headline is the first place prize of ~$1.5M USD, which is about 8x what you'd get for winning the World 9-ball Championship. A few things that stand out A sponsor in the...

Now that we're done with making fun of Johnny Archer, I figured it was time for a thread on a new payment controversy. Aden Joseph, one of the top African pool players, organized a tournament in South Africa called Ghost Nation. It promised a R500k (~$30k USD) prize pool, so about the scale of...

New price: $799 firm Super early block letter Joss for sale! This cue was made during the earliest days of Joss. Both Dan Janes and Bill Stroud (and maybe even Tim Scruggs!) likely had a hand in making this cue. The beautiful and highly figured BEM used in the forearm, points, and buttsleeve...

One thing I've noticed about mainland Chinese players, both pros and amateurs, is that some of them shoot bizarrely hard and fast. Shooting hard makes sense because of how the Chinese tables work, but I can't figure out for the life of me why they're playing at such a fast tempo and how they're...

Not something you see everyday! Hong Kong snooker star Ng On Yee, the world #2, is unexpectedly in Las Vegas and will be playing 10 ball for the first time. Not a lot of news about this. I only found out because she's one of my favorite players and she quietly posted a story about it on IG.

$499! I can't imagine possibly getting a better value than this. This is a great custom cue for under $500. I'm selling this very nice Carolina Custom. Unplayed - I got this from a defunct dealer that said it was new old stock. Located in NYC. Beautiful orange-ish red paduak wood with silver...

A lot of unsubstantiated claims have been getting thrown around regarding Predator's set format for the World 10-ball Championship, so I decided to take a look at the actual data and find out the truth. The first claim I wanted to tackle: the set format leads to a lot more upsets than a single...

Obviously unplayed. Exactly 30" from the black pad under the tip to the end of the shaft. Weighs 4.1oz. Still has the Predator sticker on it but it DOES NOT come with the "V" decal. I can confirm it is a Vantage partial and you can see the tip size in the photos. Has the tiniest of roll in the...

I just got back from a two week trip in China to play in the latest JOY Billiard's Heyball Masters Tour event. It was an all expenses paid trip, my first time playing in an international competition, and a completely eye opening experience. The quick summary The events in China are massive...

What a year this man is having. Here's the stream of the final vs Ko Ping Chung: It was a smaller prize pool, but very solid field. Brackets can be found at https://challonge.com/Stage2_AdultGroup

I was watching some recent Heyball tournament videos and just came across a player asking for a video review, which I've never seen before. (Start at 2:20 if the video doesn't already take you there) I'm amazed that he did it right as his opponent got on the 8 and his opponent didn't bat an...

I feel like on average, the Shurtz cues sell for around 3x less than the ones he made under his own name. Is there something about the production process that changed? Or something else?

Last event I played, I got third and didn't tip (didn't realize this was a thing). Got a text from the TD saying "don't forget to tip next time". Looked up some old threads on here and it looks like tipping 5-10% is reasonable, does that sound right? And is that % of tournament winnings or...

I know it sounds silly but I had to ask. Is it possible for a cuemaker or repair person to add an inch and change a shaft from 29" to 30"?
