    Schon ID Help

Was at a tournament the other day and a guy had this interesting Schon that I haven't seen before. It appeared to have original micarta ferrules on it. The cue was in good shape but the clear coat on the handle needed some attention as you can see in the one picture. Thanks in advance for any help

    Early 90's Schon SLE

I'm selling my early 90's Schon SLE 1 cue. There isn't much information out there on the SLE series of cues. I got an email from Evan when I got the cue letting me know it was from the early 90's and it is an SLE 1. The cue has 6 floating points in the forearm and 6 in the handle. It comes...

    Schon SLE Series

Looking for some help from the more seasoned cue gurus. I've got an early 90's Schon SLE 1 (based on an email with Evan) I can't find any info on the SLE series anywhere. There was a post on here from back in 2007 that someone mentioned it is the Schon Limited Edition. I'm not sure it that's...

Why is 8 ball least popular? (here)

On this site that is? The thread about 8 ball being the most popular (mainstream) game got me thinking. I personally enjoy the game and hear primarily negative comments about 8 ball here. I've got a few friends who can't stand playing 8 ball and can never get a straight answer as to why...

    Distractions helping with focus

Let me preface this thought with the fact that I was "herbally medicated" when I came up with this but thinking about it now, it still seems to carry some merit. I was playing last night with my league team at the captains house. We are all fairly close as far as skill level goes with the...

    Schon Cue

Was wondering if there was anyone in the greater Sacramento area that has a Runde era Schon that wouldn't mind getting together and banging some balls around. I have 2 Schons and am considering pulling the trigger on a Runde Schon but would like to hit with one to see if I can notice/like the...

Good place to play in Astoria, OR

I'll be heading up to Astoria Oregon next Sunday for a week of fishing and was wondering if there were any good places to play some pool in the evenings. Don't necessarily need heavy action, just a nice place with decent tables will suffice. Thanks :D

    Playing better with less practice??

I was wondering if anyone has had it happen where they play better when getting less practice time. My friend that I used to shoot with 2-3 times a week has moved out of the area. Now the only time I get to play is once, maybe twice a week in local tournaments. What's weird is that I've placed...

    Ivory Ferrule Questions/Comments

I am sitting here eagerly anticipating getting my new (to me) Schon with a shaft with an ivory ferrule. I was wondering if there is anything special I need to do to help maintain the ferrule or if there are any characteristics I should be aware of. I usually break with my playing cue and...

    8 ball Instruction

I've been playing primarily 9 ball most of my life with the occasional 8 ball game mixed in for fun. I am at a point now where it is the opposite and was looking for web sites that I can browse during down time at work to help my game. I guess what I'm mainly looking for is information on...

    Higher potential resale value?

I am getting ready to get a new Schon and was wondering if there was a potential to have a higher resale value down the road. I was considering a STL 9 or a similarly priced LTD model. I didn't know if the rarity of the LTD would help keep the value higher. Thanks

    Any Kinister tapes/dvds for sale?

I was wondering if anyone had any Bert Kinister tapes/dvds for sale. I picked up tape #5 on Ebay and would love to get ahold of 6-8 as well. If you have any that you would like to get rid of, please pm me with the tape number and price. Thanks

    OB-1 Shaft Pros and Cons

I have an older Schon with an original shaft that has the name on the collar and not on the shaft and was considering getting something to replace it. I don't think I would like the smaller tip of the Pred Z shaft, so if you could compare/contrast the pros and cons of the OB-1 and the 314. Is...

    Practice Time

How much pratice time do you think is necessary to improve your game? If I was to practice give or take 5 hours a week, would that be enough to improve my game or just enough to keep it from falling back? I know it is somewhat dependent on the persons learning curve and the type of practice...

    Identifying older Schon

I recently purchased a Schon that was approximately 10 years old. I think I remember seeing a link on here previously for older Schon catalogs. If anyone could repost the link for me, or if you could help me to identify the cue it would be greatly appreciated.

    Schon Dealer

I was wondering if anyone knew of a dealer in the Sacramento area that carried Schon cues? I have been to a couple local halls with pro shops as well as the biggest dealer in the area and have not found anyone yet that has any Schons in stock. I was hoping to at least hit a couple balls with...
