    Racking without a Rack?

I've been watching footage of Shane's play in the recent 9 Ball Grand Prix Open in Switzerland on YouTube. Apart from the strange commentators who seem to enjoy their own little two person dog and pony show as much as they do the pool, its fantastic new high definition footage of Shane doing...

    Clean pocket facings

After reading about it on here I finally got around to giving my cloth the warm damp rag treatment after vacuuming. Its made an amazing difference in the playability of my pockets. Balls that used to jaw and hang are falling, and this is especially true on shots I slug a little. Has anyone...

    What would you suggest?

Hello to everybody. Its been a while since I've consulted the collective billiard brain trust here on the pool forums. I've been spending most of my time reading, enjoying, and learning from all of your posts - thankyou for feeding my addiction. Anyhow, I do have a question, and I was hoping...

    Gulyassy's SPT Shaft

I wanted to take a second this morning to let you all know about a fantastic shaft and a great cuemaker to do buisness with. A few weeks ago I got in touch with Mike about purchasing one of his SPT shafts with his special shaft freeze for my cue. The transaction was smooth and he was very good...

    Whats your playing rhythm?

Do you play fast and loose (Strickland, McCready) or do you play slow and calculated (Souquet,Basavich)? Do you alter your approach by how you feel that day or is it the same each time you approach the table. I've been trying lately - on my table at home - to stay in a fast and loose rhythm...

Do you look at the object ball?

In my ongoing quest to become at least halfway proficient at this game (so I dont have to be embarresed to tell people I have a table in my basement ) I've been working a lot on my preshot routine and aiming sequences. My question would be ones final destination of the eyes. I've...

Do you manipulate your stroke for extreme English?

I've been videotaping my practice lately in an effort to really nail down all the fundamentals of a straight and repeatable action. While observing my tapes Ive noticed that I tend to steer the cue a little when Im trying to really load up on English - especially inside english. Its...

    I popped my tip

I got a little overzealous with the burnisher last night (I think thats what its called - its that plastic thing that shapes the tip end..kind of looks like a gun silencer) Anyway, the damn tip came right off. What sort of epoxy or glue should i use to re-attach? Will I need a clamp or anything?

    Humidity and the pool table

Was hoping you learned individuals could give me some quick advice. I have a GCIII in my basement, and despite the dehumidifier I keep running 24/7, these soupy Chicago summer days seem to be slowing my table. Is there anything I can do? Should I run 2 dehumidifiers? Fans to increase...

    Kid Delicious

I just made my way through his book for the second time (I know, I'm weird, I like to re-read books) Anyhow, I never hear anything about Danny on this forum. I'm suprised he's not on here barking to match up in the action room, or looking for some sort of TAR match. Perhaps im too green...

    The McCready Stroke

First time poster here. Im a huge fan of this forum and have been observing for quite some time. My post here has to do with the evolution of the pool stroke. Ive spent countless hours soaking up every pool related youtube video I could find, and its struck me that the pool stroke has...
