Larry Jones, of Burnsville MN, passed away this past Saturday morning. Larry was a great straight pool player over the years and held the distinction of playing such greats in his past such as Steve Mizarak, Joe Balsis, Dallas West and others. We will all miss him at Shooters Billiards, table 39.

Is there any word on if this Championship will be streamed? It is coming up this weekend I believe.

For what it is worth....We just finished our Fall 2014 session (14 weeks) and tracked the length of our games (all were played to 125 points). Of the 105 game times reported, the avg time from start to finish was 124 minutes. This season we emphasized pace of play. In the past we have had games...

For those of you that play in 14.1 leagues, how does your league operator handle a "no show" of one of the players to a scheduled match. Is there some type of penalty? I define a "no show" as someone who did not attempt or make any previous contact that he/she could not play the scheduled...

I am considering a drop in format, but wondering how to handle if an odd number of players show up? I believe there are some California 14.1 leagues that use the drop in format...what do you do in such a situation? -Dennis

For those of you in 14.1 leagues, do you play fouls on all balls or cue ball fouls only. Our league plays CB fouls only and seem to be getting into too many disagreements on fouls. I would hear your thoughts. -Dennis

Something happened today in a match I was playing. All of the balls were bunched together by the foot spot except for a lone ball up table. I called a safety and pocketed the lone ball and stuck the CB to head rail. I spotted the ball and my opponent looked over the stack and found a dead ball...
