    Yes, I'm using the edges.

Hallo! I haven't told this anybody yet. Maybe everybody does it like this and I'm a slow learner, I don't know. So I wasn't sure whether I should share this or not. A short disclaimer though: This is not a system! Let's say you are faced with a straight shot (no angle). When you are down on...

    Something about Alignment

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I recently stumbled upon this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlMxPngOYos Nic Barrow, a snooker coach, uses a head camera and shows how professional players approach the game. Notice how he aligns his head on every shot and how the...

Learning to play with the opposite hand?

Because I hate playing with the rest. Is there anybody here who has done that and has any useful tips on what I should focus on - apart from "just doing it"? How long does it take to get comfortable with the opposite hand?

    Phil Capelle's Books

If I wanted to expand my 9-Ball and 8-Ball knowledge a bit, would his "Play your best ..." books be a good choice? Are they as good as his 14.1 book?

    Warm-up strokes ...

I had this idea for some time now, but it's difficult to test this. One big problem for pool players seems to be aiming or sighting. You know what I mean. The shot never looks right. Putting the cue under your "dominant eye" doesn't seem to help either. Basically, you have to feel the shot, and...

    Blackjack's 14.1 Evaluation Videos

I like them. I watched all of them on his YT channel. Are there any more available online? And I have another question: What is a "triangle endpattern"? Is it supposed to be the ideal end pattern? Every three balls will form a triangle unless they are on one line. Can somebody explain? What...

What does it take to convince you of extraordinary claims?

http://img694.imageshack.us/i/mojb.mp4/ I posted this video in another thread. In it you can see this guy using a new technique called Perfect Run© that can help you to consistently determine the best way possible to run a rack with minimal cueball travel distance. It will also show you how to...

    Outside english or center ball?

When position is irrelevant, how do you play cut shots? Do you throw the ball in with outside english, or do you aim a little thinner with center ball? http://CueTable.com/P/?@1HGOO4PITF1cGOO1ccQu1ccQv1ccQv1ccQw1ccqC4kITF1kFAA@ Which method do you think is better and why?

    10-Ball Break

Quick question: How do you break in 10-Ball? I can almost never make a ball on the break. And other players seem to have the same problem, so it's not like I'm hitting the rack badly. Last weekend I played a race to 9 and lost 7:9. That's 16 games and 16 breakshots without making a single...

    The Final 9

In a hill-hill match what do you do here? http://CueTable.com/P/?@3IAfh1PCCi@ What are your chances of winning the game? And would you play a different shot, if the cueball was not on the rail? The reasonable shot would be to play safe, put the 9 on one siderail and the cueball on the other...

    Kick Shots

Do you think the lack of diamonds adds difficulty to kick shots (or whatever they are called in snooker)? In pool you can find many systems for one-rail, two-rail and three-rail kick shots using the diamonds. But how do you approach these shots in snooker? Completely by feel?
