Players have told me they get more 'feel' on there shots with an ivory joint. Do you agree and are there other things you've noticed that you like?

I have a great old W.Hoppe one piece in great condition. Solid as hell with a nice thick butt. I just got the idea to turn it into a two piece with an ivory joint. I'm assuming it should play great. Are the percentages in my favor that I'm right?
