    joint pin position

    When and why did the joint pin become part of the butt versus the shaft? Logically the butt is a better place to receive the pin. Is it because of weight distribution? Nothing else seems logical to me.:confused: thanx, thom

    3/8 x 10 female inserts?

    I'm thinking about playing around with making joint protectors. I see 5/16 inserts available but haven't found 3/8 x 10. Do I need to tap my own threads or can I just drill a hole and insert?

    the cue guy

    Anybody ever hear of this brand? I got 3 pretty nice sneaky cues that have tcg on the butt with my table. Wood to wood joint, stainless pin. Very plain except for a white butt ring ab out 1/2" wide with the tcg in lower case in black.

    Hard tip?

    OK, I've always played with a fairly soft tip. I feel it gives me better control and less likely to miscue. Now I see lots of folks on here using hard tips. I can understand it on a break or jump cue. Why do you use a hard tip on your shooting cue?

    looking for Jim Rempe shaft

    Just picked up a beater Jim Rempe cue today that needs a shaft. It is a plain jane and will be my bar cue for a while. Got is for $40 and know it isn't ever gonna be worth much more. Anybody know where I can get a shaft for under $100?
