OK, I feel silly for asking this but is the trick to putting the butt caps back on? It popped off easily enough but I am struggling to get it back in all the way. It is one of the ones that is shaped like a smooth cork with the bottom being larger than the top.

Are they the same thickness as linen wraps? Can you replace a linen wrap with a leather wrap and vice-versa without effecting the overall thickness of the grip?
