    That darn glue.

I'm wearing my arms out scraping at least four layers of contact cement on this Valley today. Is there a better way to remove the old stuff than elbow grease and sharp razors in the scraper?

    Anniversary values

Our local Elks lodge has two 9' Brunswick Anniversary tables, likely from the 50s that they are looking to sell. They are in decent shape, but not restored. What's the appropriate range for an asking price for them? They also have an older Brunswick 10' snooker table, I expect that will be worth...

    Valley leveling

One of the tables I play on fairly often has a roll out along one side. I have a machinists level and am willing to dive into trying to get it closer to level. It's an old enough table that the leg adjustments use the C spanner wrench rather than a large crescent wrench. One of the other players...

Pocket pouches when putting on new cloth

I've got Simonis 860HR that I've start to install on this table, and I believe I've stretched it correctly. I am seeing what seems to be the right amount of 'pouch' for the side pockets, but the corners are a little tighter than I expected. Did I miss a step, or are they this taut normally.

    Pocket bolts

I'm still gradually cranking away on the Pat Sheehan table I picked up a while ago. I'm at the point where I need to affix the extensions to the rails in order the set the pocket width, and for the center pockets I need to trim the extensions to match the pockets themselves. The corners don't...

    Slate chip repair

So I've got my table close to ready to start dealing with the slate. I'm planning on using bees wax as suggested by Average Joe to seal the cracks between the slate pieces. but there are a couple of places where things are a bit more dicey. I'd like to do something fairly permanent with them...

    Table identification

I've got an opportunity to pick up a table at a reasonable price. They don't know the make or model though. It was supposedly purchased a number of years ago new from a location that sounds like Golden West Billiards, but it doesn't seem to be one of theirs. Anyone have any idea what it is...

    Valley Cue ID help

Stickers say Valley cues Inc. Shakopee Minn and H in a diamond. Inlaid dots look like metal, rings are plastic of some sort. The piece of the handle closest to the joint is stripped and off. Obviously needs some work, but somewhat better than the average thrift store find I hope. Any idea as to...

    Will this work?

I've got a junker cue I'm using to learn my way around on the Mid Size Cue Lathe from Chris Hightower. I sanded the finish off (splotchy brown stain, looks like they used a sponge to make it look exotic) and found some OK birdseye maple underneath. It's a wrapless cue and I'd like to put an...

    House cue conversion

I have an older house cue that I'd like to convert to a sneaky pete. It has a real nice, honey colored, patina on the surface though and I expect I'd have to sand or mill at least a little bit off in order for the joint to fit smoothly. How do others do it, or is it just bite the bullet and live...

Refinish a vintage Rich Q cue

I've got a mid 70s Rich Q cue that has seen better days. The lacquer finish is pretty yellow and has been abraded away in places, enough so the joint is starting to corrode. I's like to refinish well enough to make a playable cue that looks more like it did when new. The yellowed lacquer on...

    Rich cue ID

It's not immediately obvious to me how to make attachment images show up in the message body, unless they do that automatically when I complete the post. If not I think you'll be able to just click on them to view them. This is a Rich cue (I believe not Rich Q) that I picked up some time ago...

Which Adam model do I have?

I'm not having too much luck figuring this one out, other than it should be awfully early with the joint screw mounted backwards like that. I thought they stopped doing that in the 60s...
