    The funny bangers...

I just wanted to see how many of you have observed the bangers standing the house cue up on the table by the rail and moving the cue ball off of the rail by the width of the butt. I see it at least once a week; I laugh everytime... Name something funny that you see the bangers doing...

How much weight do you give?

On a typical day, how much weight do you give out (or get)? How would you rate those players? I'm just curious to see what kind of typical game you guys get into to stay in stroke. Last night I was giving a d-player the 6 and out wild racing to 5 and destroyed him...I'll give him more next...

9-Ball: How often do you win via gash?

In the game of 9-Ball, how often would you estimate that you combo/carom/billiard the nine ball in rather than running all of the way out? If you like, list some of the more common gash shots that come up...

    Pool Popular?! Why?

I just wanted to start a thread for my own stand on pool, and it's popularity, television coverage, etc.. You see, thread after thread ask why pool isn't on TV. There is a simple answer, and that is, because it sucks to watch. Even the players don't watch it! Thread after thread ask why...

    Is it ivory?

How can you tell if the inlays of your cue are ivory? Does it look a certain color or have a texture to it? I am just wondering if the points in my cue (Schon LTD1122) are ivory. They are white with hardly visible lines through it, almost like some sort of shell....it's hard to describe.

    Sid System Kick

Ok, I've reviewed the Sid System from the posts by DeadAim. The difficulty with this system is the diamond numbering convention. I am used to counting the diamonds starting with zero at the pocket. Only the one rail in this system does not do this, and starts at 1. It is difficult (for me...

    White Diamond tip glue/epoxy

I have recently began using a White Diamond tip for my break/jump, and it works great. I love the tip. After about a week and a half, I broke and the tip flew off. I put another one on, and it lasted for a few weeks. Yesterday I spent some time working on my break and I can really hammer the...

Why is it called stacked leather wrap?

This is probably a dumb question, but I was just wondering what stacked leather wrap is. Why is it called stacked, and what is the difference between it and regular leather wrap? Just the texture?

    Considering buying a Schon LTD

I am looking at a new Schon Ltd. model LTD1122 w/ leather wrap. I currently play with an STL-1, and I used to play with a CX-5... I *love* the hit, and I like that they have interchangable shafts. I can get a great price on this cue, and I think I'm going to order it. I am wondering, because...

    Kicking 1-rail w/ English

Kicking: Eliminating Guesswork by Chad Moore This article is somewhat large, and will be a lot to take in at one time. I have inserted *** PRACTICE NOW BEFORE CONTINUING *** where I think you should stop and master the topics up to that point before learning more; you may need to read that...

    How do you go pro?

I would like to know how a player goes pro. At what point do they officially become considered pro? Is there a particular event that they must win or is it based on points or something? I have heard of pro points and pro cards, but I have no idea how they are acquired and what the...

    One Pocket Tips

I am trying to become proficient at One Pocket. I have been playing a few games lately and would like some advice/tips to improve. Here are a few principles that I am using currently: I usually break very defensively, driving the corner ball to the rail and leaving the cue on the rack. I...

    Lessons

I personally think that the best way to learn is to find someone who will teach you that is better than you; not way way better than you. Why go to a pro to learn how to draw a ball, when someone else could do his light-work for free? I work with anyone who asks at my local hall, and I'm sure...
