Thoughts on the David Alcaide Pechauer cues?

$850 shipped with a carbon fiber shaft & an extension. Seems reasonable, especially given the quality of the two I looked at yesterday. Those I was told went for $950 each.

    KielWood Shaft

I have a PureX inFUZED with a 3/8x10 thread at 12mm. I originally bought it for a couple of customs. One custom is gone and the other has a finicky joint pin that this shaft won't screw down onto. I now use it on a cheap Lucky butt and it makes for a sweet shooting combo. 3.5oz & 14.5oz for...

Thoughts on the David Alcaide Pechauer cues?

Disregard this post now. I went in a totally different direction and ordered a cue from Sawdust Custom Cues. I saw a couple today at where I play. They were beautiful, well made & felt great. I decided to get one of my own and in a color I don't already have.

Thoughts on the David Alcaide Pechauer cues?

Specifically, the DA2T. I'm considering this cue, which would be the most expensive cue I've bought to date, by at least double. I love it though, as I've wanted an ebony, white & turquoise cue for some time now. I know Pechauer is well respected here - is this cue, at $1,710, a good buy or...

Cuemakers who do really dark brown shafts?

When I ordered the cue I had the maker use an OB shaft for one of the two shafts that came with the cue. A silly idea in retrospect as I just don't care for that shaft and never use it. It would be no loss to me to get rid of it. The maker's normal shaft, which is the better player for me...

Cuemakers who do really dark brown shafts?

I was hoping for dark roasted, aka torrified, rather than stained.

Cuemakers who do really dark brown shafts?

I have a Tulipwood custom with a brown shark skin wrap that I think would look really good with a dark brown shaft like the one pictured on the left. I've reached out to the guy who made this one as he lives about an hour from me, but have heard nothing yet (it's through Facebook, so it may...

    Favorite tips so far.

I cannot claim a favorite yet and have not tried a G2, but I'm having a very positive experience with a Recoil medium on one of their 12.4mm CF shafts. I've played for hours with it so far, even broke a few times, and have not had to scuff or shape it. I'm also enjoying a Taom Fusion on a...

    Bulletproof carbon playing shaft?

My Bulletproof shaft with a Recoil medium tip arrived yesterday and I went to shoot with it for a couple of hours. I originally wanted an 11.8mm as that's what I play with now, but they emailed me to tell me they're out of those. They asked if I wanted a 12.4mm or a refund. I opted for the...

My break cue test (new tech vs old tech) is over and it's old tech for me...mostly.

I jumped on board the hype train for carbon fiber break technology, albeit with a Podayude cue from Amazon. After replacing the tip with a Kamui Sai, I found it to be a pretty solid performer. However, I have this antique Adam cue (had it for over 40 years) that just wasn't getting any love...

How do we think a modern CF break shaft would perform on an old brass jointed Adam cue?

With a good carbon fiber break shaft being a minimum of $200, some opinions or experience before the purchase could be helpful. However, I have ordered a maple break shaft with a Bulletproof tip installed for under $100. I feel this is going to be quite satisfactory.

How do we think a modern CF break shaft would perform on an old brass jointed Adam cue?

I expressed no concern about damaging my joint. Quite the opposite as I clearly stated the joint is brass and the cue is built like a tank. As for what I did intend with my post, I feel like it's one of those things I should have just kept to myself. It seems like a natural question to me...

How do we think a modern CF break shaft would perform on an old brass jointed Adam cue?

I recently tried two very modern shafts, Kielwood hybrid & carbon fiber, on a 21yr old Steve Kornele (think Verl Horn) custom and neither impressed me there, though both shafts proved excellent on newer handles. So, no automatic guarantee that a more break efficient interface will work on my...

How do we think a modern CF break shaft would perform on an old brass jointed Adam cue?

I have a carbon fiber break cue with a Kamui Sai tip and it does ok. Lately, however, I've been experimenting with an Adam cue I've had for 40+ years as a break cue and I'm enjoying the results. It has a brass joint and is still solid as a tank, so I've no fears of damaging it. I bought a...

    Bulletproof carbon playing shaft?

I just ordered one of these shafts last night to use with a new Jacoby cue I just got. I'm very curious about it and am quite hopeful that I will enjoy an experience similar to southernfried's.

    My first Jacoby!

I'm in something of an exploratory stage with shafts right now, but I think I'm done with standard maple. Carbon fiber is probably where I'm going to commit, though I have a PureX FUZE Kielwood that's impressing me right now. It initially didn't work to my liking on the Steve Kornele custom I...

    My first Jacoby!

I've been intrigued by their Element series and finally pulled the trigger on the Earth model. I'm normally into inlays and sharp designs/colors, but wow! This one dazzles in it's own way. I love looking at it. It plays pretty nice too, though I've only put on a JFlowers Classic carbon fiber...

I'd put my money on Putin. I don't see Trump being a player. Pool player, that is.

Why two different 3/8x10 pins and can I even then up myself?

There's a good chance I won't now. I've just been playing with the Rhino shaft on the other cue with the longer pin and that combo is solid! I think I'm gonna call them married & monogamous. No need to mess with that relationship further. Still gotta figure out that Kielwood FUZE though.

Why two different 3/8x10 pins and can I even then up myself?

I like the hit and feel of it on my Steve Kornele, but I'm not feeling as accurate with that combo as I am with my JFlowers cue and my Cuetec Avid. Different cues, different shafts though. I'm also suffering a little with the Rhino shaft on SK, as well, which makes me think it's the cue and...
