    help please....butt stuck in case

I would take the case apart. I've taken a few cases apart to redo the interiors. It's not a lot of work and usually goes back together fairly well. With these extruded rectangular plastic with internal dividers type cases you can usually pull off he entire outside of the case (almost like...

is there benefit to increasing table difficulty factor on my home table?

It's a great table. I wouldn't get rid of it. I play on the same table with 4 1/2 inch pockets regularly. It plays great. A good table mechanic can tighten those pockets up for you.

    My experience with Schmelke

I have schmelke butt that I use with a pechauer rogue shaft. The butt is one piece of bocote. It's nicely figured, straight and the 3/8x10 pin is straight and centered. That's about all I was expecting with the purchase for the price and very happy with what I received. The finish was fine...

Savannah “The RoadRunner” Easton using a wood shaft?

I'm not a banger. I've been shooting for 30 yrs. I play objectively better with the Pechauer Rogue i'm using currently than previous setups which have included: standard maple (Frey SP, Viking, McDermott), 314-2, 314-3, Mezz WD700, HXT 11.8, Cynergy 11.8. It feels better in my bridge hand...

    The slickest/smoothest carbon fiber shaft?

You might like the Pechauer Rogue. I came to it from the Cuetec Cynergy. The Cynergy was extremely slick, almost too slick / slippery. The Rogue is very smooth and still slick but not quite as slick and definitely not slippery. It has a completely different looking weave pattern and never...

    Cue tip shaper

I've been doing my own tips by hand for about 30 yrs. IMO, without a lathe, absolutely nothing beats a decent quality kiridashi knife for cutting the tip flush to the ferrule. Not the really thin cheap 10$ ones but one with a relatively thick spine that doesn't flex. You can fine them in...

Anyone else prefer very hard tips??

When I started shooting about 30 yrs ago, I used elk masters, very soft out of the box and got harder over time. Since then I've used at least dozen or more variations of layered tips in S, M & MH. A couple of years ago I moved from an LD wood shafts to carbon and since then I've been using...

    Cuetec Cynergy ferrule

The ferrule on my 11.8 Cynergy was way too soft for me (which I really noticed on my first tip change). Changed it out to Juma, couldn't be happier. No discernible change deflection wise so weight must be similar to the original material.

C/F shaft and what not to do!

Just as an aside, I've had a lot of luck using CA on carbon shafts to fix minor defects. Wet 2000 grit will smooth out CA pretty easily and do no damage to the carbon shaft as far as I can tell (no black residue after using wet 2000 grit). I've also had a lot of luck using Black medium CA that...

    Chip in clear coat

I've fixed all sorts of finish issues on cues with CA glue. Takes a little patience but its really easy and sort of error proof in that you can correct any blunders with light sanding. Lots of youtube videos around finishing all sorts of wood projects with CA. (Its really common in pen...

    Furious Pool Player video

IMO It looks staged to me. I think the only way the cloth would rip that easily is if it already had a slash in it and he got his hand under it.

    Mutant/Heavy LD Skinny Shaft

I'm selling an unusually heavy low deflection HXT Skinny shaft. It's 5/16 x 18 flat faced, black collar with silver ring and measures 11.75mm at the ferrule with a ~12 in taper and Kamui Black Soft. These shafts usually weight around 3.8oz. This shaft weighs a mammoth 4.4oz! The shaft...

    5/16 x 18 insert failure

Quick question for the cuemakers in the forum: I picked up a flat faced 5/16 x 18 314-3 shaft. I have been using it on a butt that would normally take a piloted shaft. I have had numerous other flat faced shafts on this butt with no issues. I noticed while screwing the cue together that...
