Did going from a low-end cue to high-end improve your game?

    That is also true.

Did going from a low-end cue to high-end improve your game?

since you left out the shaft discussion which is an integral part of the cue's performance capability, I would say to some degree that even the butt has some degree of capability to change your game. the weight and balance for example can have an impact on playability. not saying I can't play...

    Thoroughbred Tips

I would say depending on the conditions and tips. typical of hard tips from my experience is the frequency of miscues and how you have to hit it differently or technique. chalk application, compression, etc... from what I have seen can impact spin, control and draw. while there are variations or...

    Thoroughbred Tips

if some have the time of day to modify a cue tip, the best for the bang would be a milk dud. I just made some a few weeks ago when I couldn't buy some of my favorite replacement tips for my other shafts which I have lost their tips when they came off and the price are just inflated. ended up...

    Lowest deflection kielwood

It's not really silly if you read my posts previously. But for the benefit of sharing, I use the other one as a longer cue with the butt extension. since I don't like using the extension bridge. To each his own. It's my cues. I'm the one thats using them. You maybe thinking about why I use the...

I use two cues, is that a crime?

    Lowest deflection kielwood

Sorry, not switch shafts but switch cues. The times when I switch shafts is when my tip has popped off. Again, sorry for the confusion.

    Lowest deflection kielwood

I have the opportunity to compare both the Lucasi Fuze and Fortis which I now have both. to be honest I like both. the feel for both shafts are different but for some reason I like the feel for both shafts. although the Fuze looks more appealing. the hit are pretty much head to head and can't...

Do cue makers who make wood shafts still use a wood sealer dip?

The Fuze. Honestly it goes head to head against my Tiger Fortis CF shaft. Main difference is the Feel and Aesthetics. Had to change the tip though since it was producing this funny sound that some members were pointing out. Besides, I didn't like the tip. Changing the tip with an Ultraskin Pro...

Do cue makers who make wood shafts still use a wood sealer dip?

have no idea what older wood shaft but if you are referring to really old growth then I get the concept of what kind of feel or hit you might be saying. just letting you know I don't have any experience hitting with one. anyway, just sharing my experience with kielwood since receiving mine...

What beginner pool tip do you wish you learned sooner?

First lesson, how to level your cue on the table when taking a shot. Typical beginner error. I see these often when people are hitting the air multiple times after wasting a lo ng time aiming. Also, it helps to start with a short stroke and work from there.

surely this has happened in a big match, what's the rule??

had a few times got a tip popped off. aside from bringing a spare shaft, better to bring a superglue gel as well.

    Lowest deflection kielwood

I do find it stiffer. So far, I played with it well yesterday. It has a 12.5mm tip but would have preferred an 11.8 or 11.5. Mine would be the one on the far right of the picture.

    Lowest deflection kielwood

I finally got my kielwood after waiting months for it. Tried it for an hour before using it for wednesday's game. Shaft looks nice and I like the brown coloring to it from an aesthetic standpoint. Shaft felt solid and lighter. I adjusted well to it and felt little or low deflection. As others...

Going to try CF, any suggestions?

there are a lot of CF shafts options out there with varying price and performance. I'm sure there are gems out there that you can get at a discount or atleast on the affordable side. but so far, investing on more expensive shafts is more of a safer route and least disappointment. I think a CF...

    cheap carbon fiber shaft

I got a nice experience with a Crical CF. You can try that. Just make sure it is your preferred taper. I can do either, but I prefer playing with a pro-taper since I'm using an 11.5mm.

Do the best players you know have OCD or perfectionistic qualities moreso than the average person??

Guess he was traumatized. For me I began doing it when a few of my matches had those funny rolls. Not picking on every shot though but it did raise my awareness a lot and became quite sensitive with seeing them. Inspite of having poor eyesight now, I see the lint more frequently which I find funny.

Do the best players you know have OCD or perfectionistic qualities moreso than the average person??

Speaking of picking up table lint, I would blame him. I almost never do til I experienced how it affects ball roll.

Have you wanted to try a CF shaft but want a shaft that is closer to 13mm?

is it all about shaft? but what about the butt?
