How to clean wood shaft after every use?

This is my approach too, except i use micro fibre cloth, maybe twice a week. I'm always playing. like philly said, unless your getting something on the shaft, why would you need to clean them that much? I know some players, don't like the blue staining. I always found the more you play, the...

    Rotation & 9-Ball

A word of caution, rotation will improve your game in time, but it takes many years to master the basics, I only played the Philippine version. Its what i would call pools version of snooker. If you find someone to play, competitively against. Its a great game. A serious game. Loads of safety...

    ID Threads

I think most that do it, think they struck gold, and to be told, by the guys who know. Its a cheap import. And not worth anything. But yeah i agree, we are a seeing these threads, a lot more now. Elkmaster Milk dud tips, real or just hype???

Yeah hard tips, are my favourite too, it always feels like the CB reacts quicker. And yep, the best ones that do this, are the single layer tips. Again trying to find consistency among all these, is tricky, no matter how long it lasts.

    GB9 Ball Tour Tight pockets

Look at matchroom since they basically took over 9 ball, the money they have invested. They were always going to make it there own. Weather that was new ball sets, or smaller pockets, its only natural, that others will try and give a similar experience. but Its more about the brand of pool...

    GB9 Ball Tour Tight pockets

From there facebook page, that table is a 7ft bar box. Comparing it to a english 8 ball table, For people to try. Not sure what there standard cash steel pockets are. They definitely look better, than the old sam tables they had. They used to play very tight aswell.

    Cuelees cues, anyone tried them?

I agree with you, just look at mali and viking from the 70s and 80s very collectable now. And with that, prices rise. And quite often with these old cues, i found in reality, is the condition is never as advertised. The few i brought. But These fancy production cues, or limited edition cues...

    What is a Shaft Taper?

If you go the custom route, you will find Most use a modified version of a pro taper. Which is generally a 10 to 12 inch taper. But I'm sure you can get what ever you want, put on. As i did. The thing i really like, these guys have spent years perfecting there's. If you can find the right cue...

Old Matches - How important is commentary?

I brought the tara open from 88 some years ago. That had no commentary. I thought it was great. Pat flaming just announced the score after each rack. Clicking of the balls, and hearing crowd noise was fine.

Anyone notice the quality of major brands of tips going down?

Yes, i go through a lot of tips, i seam to be very unlucky lately. The most i will spend is $23 on single tip. Which is more than enough.and Some where inbetween that I'm happy to try anything. I like lepro or triangles, and you might get lucky with one. I find tiger tips are very good, if you...

Moving to a heavy playing cue

That is the combination i like, also.but with out the extension.mine is a completely solid butt cap. It was made bumper less no weight bolt in the back. The shaft i use a little over 30. What does the extra 3 inches give you?

Moving to a heavy playing cue

Josh Filler is playing with a 16.6 oz. (last i read) And SVB playing with 23oz. both of those are considered extremes. Balance is definitely a personal thing. it has very little to do with, the actual weight of the cue.

Moving to a heavy playing cue

This is something you learn, by using a lot of different cues, nearly all will feel very different from one another, the weight isn't the important thing.its where that balance point is. This is where most like, ether a forward or rear balance. Take a cue, and try balancing it on one...
