In my experience, most any rack in decent condition is not the problem on a pool hall table. It's the cloth that over time develops dents that make tight racking difficult. Templates overcome this problem by using their own dents perfectly placed.

Seems like you might get the same result by altering where you contact the first rail. I'm sure that I don't know why, but surely there must be a reason.

I don't use the burnisher as it was intended, but I love it and I've been using it for years. Instead of burnishing the tip I put the burnisher on the tip every time put the Cue back in the case. Storing the Cue that way keeps the tip from mushrooming in the first place.

Any perfect rack requires a perfect way to position it. That seems to be missing. Those four white lines aren't going to work. Especially because they are not down to the level of the cloth. Maybe the $1,000 improved version will be better.

I think I would just pick up the chalk, chalk my tip and set it down again on a different rail.

I have a 90s era McDermott cue with an extension that I leave on full time - and I really like it that way except when I shoot the CB close to the rail and I use an open bridge. I have removed the weight bolt and the overall weight is pretty close to what the cue used to be with the weight bolt...

Yah I don't know about that price. I hear that they're not actually made with real diamonds.
