Before you replace the rubber, check with a competent table mechanic. My mechanic - with many years of experience - had me leave my old GC1 cushions in place. He says that the old rubber is better than what's available now. That was about 10 years ago and the cushions still have no issues.

A 1990s McDermott butt (about $350 then) with a Bull 12.25mm CF shaft (about $400 a few years ago). Between them is a 2" center extension that's there for the forward weight.

I'm flying to another state to visit relatives for a few weeks. I'd like to have a cue to play with during that time. Have you had any good experiences with low end cues that you might recommend? I'd expect to probably pay $100-$200 and leave the cue there for my next visit.

In my experience, most any rack in decent condition is not the problem on a pool hall table. It's the cloth that over time develops dents that make tight racking difficult. Templates overcome this problem by using their own dents perfectly placed.
