When You Are In A Slump

not an instructor when I've wanted a break from everything else in life, the pool table has been a friend to me but if it's the pool that's giving me grief, I take a break from the pool and I come back to the table when I'm happy to

    (Un)Popular Opinion on Fargo Rate

feet in the fire even in a losing effort, I've noticed my game's often a little tighter against better competition I try to focus the same in every match, but I wonder if something more is inspired to come out vs better probably taking fewer risks managing the game better if anything..maybe...

With Fedor Winning Banks Who would you put against him?

good point. a lot of players got sauce, some more than others- but to be the best you have to be truly *precise* and the longer the game/set, the more precision plays its part. many can win a short one, but I'll take the american (from russia) over time..

How long does POOR play keep you down?

where there is pleasure, there is pain especially with significant investment of time, energy, etc. things, and the rush we get from them, all run out at some point maybe we can re-up, but nothing really changes..the same thing will happen again we'll feel up..then we'll feel down again we of...

    score predictions for different games

ha..I offered, but to my friend's credit, he'd rather play even not all at once..a few brews usually suffice for our seshs🍻 thanks bob, makes sense. I think that's why I do a little better in eight-ball than nine, more chances

    score predictions for different games

have a regular session with a pal we mix it up and play different games if we're playing to 10, I might win 10-2 playing eight-ball, 10-3 playing nine-ball but when we play one-hole, he might get 1 game out of 25, maybe these scores check out to y'all? the 1p seems overly-lopsided, but not sure

physical consequences of cue balance point location

https://store.accu-stats.com/the-counter-weight/ I haven't used pat's counter-weight, but I've improvised the idea, and it works for what we're discussing adding temporary weight to different cue parts is also a great way to learn what cue dimensions one likes

physical consequences of cue balance point location

this is why I like a forward-balanced cue, as well as a heavier shaft than is typical in general, but especially in your scenario, the cue stays down in my bridge better I've said this before, but it's not just where the bp is- it's where the cue weight lives off the rail, the heavier shaft...

physical consequences of cue balance point location

yea b, we're human beings huh? :) when I started this thread, I knew for myself that I was sensitive to a cue's balance, and wanted to try and figure out why just putting it on "feel" is good enough for me, because I feel it- but obviously there's more to the story, esp. that which is not yet...

“Fireball” Mike Dechaine goes undefeated to win inaugural State of Maine 9-Ball Open

we all have our weak moments, but some players seem to relish the touring, the life- especially lately, with matchroom helping the sport grow in so many ways. cool to hear fireball's still firin' em in tho. may happiness find us all!

    Your prayers have been answered!

I'll play with anything, but have learned that I like cue's balance point weighted more forward/neutral(?) than is typical. I've also learned that I like a (proportionately) heavier shaft than is typical. as bob mentioned above, I like using an open bridge, and when the cue feels more stable...

when getting a lesson, is it better to warm up solo first, or come in cold?

I could see warming up before a lesson potentially being helpful or a hindrance to the instructor instructing- thoughts?

    Golden Fleece rumor

jim you couldn't bore me, you're the pilot!😋 seriously, fun story, and one I fear might occur less frequently as time goes by especially as bar boxes displace big tables more and more but pool has room for all kinds, I think.. as long as we show up in the way we really want to, there will be a...

    Golden Fleece rumor

share? might make me feel better..tho I guess I should've seen it coming when I asked dave a few months ago "when's the best time to come in and get a 1p game?" he paused for a moment to think, then replied, "any day..any time..except friday" (cos that's dj dance etc. night..)

Any instruction resources available for playing with an upright stance?
