Interesting. Looks like Schmelke had/have several joint styles but none of the ones on their catalog page looks like the joint on my cue. The mystery continues.

Schmelke sort of rang a bell in my memory so I went and looked at the oldercatalog page on their website and they have some with wraps similar to the one I have. No exact match but very similar.

I’ll give it a closer look but I don’t think there are any markings on it. Edit: I took another look at it and don’t see any markings. But on a sad note I looked over the other one that Ideologist thinks is an Adam and I noticed that the black ring at the base of the butt has a crack/split in...

Adapting vintage rifle case for cues

Do you have a photo looking into the top with the lid open? Should be easy enough to stuff lined tubes for the cue, might even fit two shafts in there. Look up images of old Drilling rifles for ideas of how to make the cur openings look. For the other part I’m envisioning a nice laminated...

Fair enough and understood, thank you for the leniency.

Thanks. It just sits in a case locked away, and back when I last played with it I never left it unattended if I went to the head or to grab a drink or snack. Plus it is way beyond my game level. I go back and forth on it. Anyway, just starting to get my head back into playing and refreshing...

Just thinking of selling it and sharing a few pics of a not often seen cue.

Sorting my cues, swapping things out

My Huebler cue, I forget what model it is. Nice and clean with no wraps.

Thank you. I think I’ve got a process flow now that seems cumbersome but functional.

Thank you, I’ll make a note and put it in the case with the cue.

Imagelinked from imgur and not sure how to downsize them. On other sites the imagelinked pics downsize automatically. Open to help, otherwise I’ll try to delete them and figure out how to reduce them in size. Sorry.

I even have the price sticker for it. Also have a business card in the cue case (bought the case separately from Romines) and I don’t recall if this was the gentleman that I bought the cue through or if I had taken a lesson from him (it has been a decade or so). (Hopefully these pic uploads...

I picked these up at a rummage sale a number of years ago at the north end of my Wisconsin town. They said he gave up playing pool for a number of reasons but had been a regular in the local billiards tournaments and matches. I have no idea what his name was. These came together with the case...

Sorting my cues, swapping things out

I’ll try to link some pics of my Huebler here, then if it works I will post single threads on the others. I had emailed the Huebler people years ago and they told me which model mine is, but that email account is long gone (email server mergers and such). Anyway, I have no plans to ever sell...

Sorting my cues, swapping things out

I got a short tour of the Schon facility one day, got to see a couple prototypes and got a short lesson on what makes up a cue. Was shown a couple cues that were not for sale, very interesting stuff.

Thanks, that’s kind of where I was thinking. I might run it up to GreenBay and have them give it a look and double check the shafts as well. I recall that the shafts had a very slight bow to them, never affected me and wasn’t noticible to the billiards club owner out in Madison that I took a...

Sorting my cues, swapping things out

Hello, I’m thinking of getting back into playing, been over ten years since I’ve done much with billiards. I used to frequent Romines south of Milwaukee Wisconsin and used to be marginally active on a couple pool/billiards discussion forums. Anyway, I’ve been thinking of sorting out the cues...

    New Here? - Introduce Yourself

Hello, I haven’t played for at least ten years and am thinking of getting back into billiards. Last time I played was in a friendly 9-ball tournament sponsored by a billiards/pool discussion forum (I forget which one). So, just saying hello from Wisconsin.
