    Saving The Valley Bar Box

This is what I did to my 7’ Valley. Ridgeback rails tightened to 4” corners and factory sides and Simonis 860HR cloth, plays like a dream.

Pool halls in a covid world, my table needs new felt

Pool halls being closed on Sundays is going to be specific to your locality. Pool halls in my area have been closed since March, they opened for two weeks in November and closed again because of COVID. Home pool table sales have jumped and finding reliable movers has also become a challenge...

Chemical warfare at tournaments? AKA Not showering

I had a APA team captain who smelled. It didn’t affect his opponent as they were at the table separately, it affected his teammates because he would come sit next to us.

Phenolic Tip (or similar) on CF Shaft (Revo) ...?

I’ve never heard of phelnolic tips being used on CF. All phelnolic tips I’ve seen in use were on break cues. I’ve personally seen and heard them used in my local APA, they’re obnoxiously loud.

G Core or Meucci Black Dot

A traditional maple shaft (from here on out I’ll just use the term maple) is the standard, it’s what all LD shafts base their claims on. That a LD shaft deflects less than maple. You said a G-Core is high deflection and in my mind you’re saying that a G-Core deflects more or more aggressively...

G Core or Meucci Black Dot

I disagree, I own both a Traditional McDermott shaft and a G-Core shaft and can hit them side by side. The G-Core is an “in between” LD shaft if I had to coin a term, it is not a high deflection shaft. It hits in between a full LD shaft and a traditional shaft. High does a high deflection...

We're cyclop balls replaced by dynasphere? Any reviews on dynasphere?

Thanks, I bought a set from them, it took less than a week. I’m not a fan of the color scheme and some of the numbers don’t match but from what I can tell of the build, which remind me of Cyclop, it’s a good deal.

    Pool Ball Manufacturer

Even in the watch world there’re people who love to hate Rolex. Yes a Timex will tell you the time and a Camry will get you to the store but that Toyota won’t get you there like a Ferrari. Source: I own several Rolex’s, Omega, Marathon, Seiko’s AND Timex. I’m not a brand snob but I do know...

We're cyclop balls replaced by dynasphere? Any reviews on dynasphere?

I’ve no idea where you guys are finding the Dynasphere for under $100. No sites that I’ve seen list them that low, most are double. For $180 I can buy another set of Cyclop Ares.

    Table Cleaners

I’ve used the Quick-Clean, I think that I might still have a can. I found Woolite to work equally as well for a lot less money.

    Stacked leather wrap

The ones I’ve seen are sealed with the rest of the butt and feels like a completely smooth no wrap.

Just started a YouTube channel about Russian pyramid with English commentary!

Only criticism I have is that the music is loud and I have trouble hearing your commentary.

Video of Penguin pro cut rails vs standard

From what I know Penguin doesn’t change the side pockets, they only reduce the corners. That is why I had Penguin further reduce my corner pockets to an even 4 inches, normally they reduce them to 4.25 inches. On my table it’s 4 inch corners and 4.5 inch sides.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Thanks, once things open in my area I’ll take more measurements of tables. Table plays fairly close as it did before with the exception of pocket speed. You really have to be aware of how hard you’re hitting the cue ball.
