Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

I think the mentor role would be best played by Larry David. A mentor with no patience. Everything gets him going. From there not being a senior discount on hourly table rates to the people who leave chalk on the rail upside down and poor pool etiquette.

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

I think what happened here might be a good idea for a pool movie https://www.businessinsider.com/retired-tiler-wins-2m-lottery-becomes-professional-pool-player-2023-10

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

Another avenue that could be explored our non-fiction biopics. Possible subjects: Greenleaf, Mosconi, Fats, Mizerak Again, I think a film that takes place in the present or near present does not work as well as one that takes place in the past. So right now, a biopic about someone like Efren...

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

I would love to see something completely different in a pool movie. I always think a film that takes place in the past, allows for a lot more creativity. I've never really seen a film about pool and the 1970's. I think a fiction story taking place in that era would work well. I'd love to see...

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

Very cool that big names are associated with this film. This sounds like the most prominent pool film since TCOM which is exciting. But, ugh...the story they describe has been so played out as far as pool (also, non-pool movies).

    Basic kicking question

I really like a drill I saw on Jasmine Ouschan's youtube channel. Basically, you just pick a pocket and try to do the least amount of kicks to make your object ball in that pocket.

    Basic kicking question

I've learned that people out of here, will do that often :ROFLMAO:. It can be frustrating, but that's the internet.

    Basic kicking question

I'd probably do the one rail kick. But if the one ball was closer to the rail, perhaps then 2 rails. I kind of wish I had done that with this diagram for my question. I guess, I am trying to understand if there is any objective scientific way of determining which kick has the highest...

    Basic kicking question

Basic kicking question. I want to do a kick shot to hit the yellow ball. All things being equal, what is the highest percentage kick? A one rail kick off of the end rail to come straight at the object ball? Or a two rail kick off of the end rail and then the long rail?

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

I think Dr Dave has a video on fouls where he mentions exactly your point and says he believes a scoop should always be a foul even if it appears accidental.

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

Yea, you are right. I probably needed to do a few more hits before I reported on this experiment. In doing it again, I did scoop on both cues and if I went off center horizontally got the weak hit and the miscue sound.

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

I just wrote this same question on a comment thread I have on youtube on Dr. Dave's latest draw shot video. I'll ask it here as well. 'Here is an interesting experiment I just did. I wiped all of the chalk off of my both my bk rush break cue (quarter shaped tip) and my jacoby black playing cue...

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

I know the stroke is the issue. But that was not my question.

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

I know there are some common reasons that someone who scoops the cue ball when executing draw shots. But all things being equal, do flatter or rounder tips better prevent this scooping?

    Tip tool shaping question

Not doubt you are correct, but for someone like myself who has no artistic ability the 'lets start the fire' method seemed like the way to go.

    Tip tool shaping question

One thing I never understood, is that it would seem for a novice, that a tip tool shaper tool would work best if one could lay it flat on the ground. But the tip tools in which you can do this with (Ultimate Tip Tool, Cue Cube) seem to be thought of much less than tip tools like the Willard...

    Bride arm tension?

Does it matter what type of bridge one uses? Open vs closed? I am thinking when I use the open bridge I have less tension.

Oops, I guess I forgot a 'g' in the title.
