Never played Pill Pool but I did learn how to play in the pool room in the basement of the student union building at college, on 60's era GC tables. Never played on a bar table until years later cause I wasn't 21 yet.

That's why I added the speed control. I can now set the speed so that the balls stay around the outer edge instead of simulating a hockey match.

I did the same thing. There were too many drunk cowboys & rednecks that liked to fight that would put their quarters down. I was doing it for the practice and since the stakes were never high, I could shoot all night for free without getting my ass kicked. I only played guys I knew for money.
