For the last 6 months I've been using the McDermott I3 shaft. It has a 11.75 mm tip with a European tapered shaft. I've been happy with it.

When I play with my 8 year old daughter we use two cue balls and I let her pick which one to use based on the shots she has available.

I'm a plumber and I've installed cast iron claw foot tubs on LVP with no issues. A pool table would be much heavier, but more spread out. I can't imagine you'd have any issues though.
