    How to practice?

Before I took the year off, I used to do a simple version of this, I guess. Rack like 8 ball. Break. Ball in hand. Any ball goes, including the 8. Score the number I could run without missing. I used to keep the average on a whiteboard of the last 10 and see how high I could push it. Only...

    How to practice?

This is great. Thank you for sharing. It "feels" a little more fundamental than where I'm at, except I know my stroke has slipped due to time off. It's not so much needing to "learn" these as re-establish them and rebuild the consistency with it, so I'll definitely try it out. The stripped ball...

    How to practice?

I appreciate all of the replies. Based on time or information, I'm probably not the typical "beginner". My Fargo is only 345, though, and it's definitely earned, lol. I wouldn't argue "beginner" if we're talking about consistent execution. One of the better players I know has consistently stated...

    How to practice?

Ah, lol. Made a joke about a "sifu-edition" sash in Kung Fu 25 years ago. Became a running gag with friends. "Sifu" or some variation has been a go-to for anything from email address, to games, to forums ever since.

    How to practice?

I'm clearly biased, so shooting in a game-like format appeals to me. Is this less optimal, though? From what I've heard, this isn't a very focused way to get better, so progress may be slower.

    How to practice?

Not sure why you feel that way. Feel free to ask for any clarification on why you think I might be trolling or what I failed to explain.

    How to practice?

How to Practice? I have my own 9' table, so I can literally play/practice any time I want for as long as I want. The truth is, I simply don't. I will casually shoot 2-10 tables a week, and not really in a very purposeful or focused manner. Then show up on league night and wish I was better. I'm...

    Are pawn shops worth it?

Is it worth it to patrol pawn shops for a possible under-priced quality cue? I suspect they don't deal in many quality cues, and if they do, they probably know what they have. Just curious what other people's experiences are. Follow up question, I haven't ever really followed cue makers much...

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

I arranged to work from home today and have tried calling twice and had to leave a voicemail. It's a small team making a lot of cases, so I get it, but it's a little frustrating.

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

I decided to buy the case and a 3 cue claw. If the 5 won't fit, I'll just leave it in my truck and carry it in individually.

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

Thank you very much for this feedback. Sadly, for the 3x4, I'm still not sure. I do appreciate the feedback, though.

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

I think you're right. I haven't measured mine. The previous question made me go look up the 2-3-4 cue. When the 2 and 3 both said 4x4x4, I looked harder. The size on Amazon may be the package size, not the product size.

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

Because me and two other friends on my league team all use the same claw. 1 break cue and one cue each. Also, I believe the 4 cue claw is the same width and depth, it's just shorter in length. Even the 2 or 3 is still likely 6" wide for stability on the table, and that's the dimension of the...

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

Thanks. My job makes it really hard to call during the day. I did send an email on Saturday. Didn't expect a response on the weekend, but, I haven't gotten a response two business days later, so I thought I'd see if anyone else knows.

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

From the Amazon link: Product Dimensions: 9 x 6 x 2 inches ; 3 pounds The case lists the pocket as 18"x 2", but doesn't list the 3rd dimension.

JB Cases and the 5 cue Claw

I am looking at buying a JB Case, but, I carry a 5 cue Claw. Can anyone confirm the 2x3 or 3x4 front 18" pocket will fit this Claw?

    Tracking my progress

Looking for tips for tracking my progress. I'm not finding many tools already out there for this. That leaves me trying to think of ways to make a spreadsheet do some cool, but, difficult or time consuming things. My current thinking is that I will work on several different games I can score...

Finally - new (to me) table and cue

4 1/2 corners. 5 on the sides.I bought it from a friend who has been doing it for about 45 years and asked for tight pockets. The hope is that league night, the pockets will feel huge, lol.

    Drills or games?

I'm a fargo 300 player, at the moment (just starting back up after 20 years not playing), so I'm definitely not who you want to hear from. However, I'm in the same boat as you and my current outlook is this: I will get better with time, so long as I spend that time hitting balls with intent. I...
