Hal Mix book -- Pocket Billiard Secrets -- new

Hello there Bob! I would like to inquire about the possibility of attaining one of your “Pocket Billiards Secrets” Books as well! BTW, I found your video of how to pocket one of 2 frozen balls 1/10 of the distance inside the Tangent Line on Dr.D’s site to be very funny! I did have a Q along...

Meucci New Old Stock no-dot shafts. (Updated list and pics)

I would like to try a 30” as the LD shafts have a Pivot Point too far back! I use Backhand English primarily so please let me know. I have a local guy to convert it to a Radial Pin, so that’s not an issue!

should I try a Meucci The Pro 12.5mm (maple) if I haven't liked other LD shafts (many)?

So much for my ”rant” above, I was on this page trying to determine how long the “Taper” extends from the tip on the Meucci “The Pro” shafts?

should I try a Meucci The Pro 12.5mm (maple) if I haven't liked other LD shafts (many)?

I find it confusing whenever one says, as it pertains to LD Shafts, that you can “use sidespin/English and almost aim your shot the same way you would a normal shot”? By saying that, is one to infer that you can line up to the shot using Center Ball Aim to the Object Ball target Cut Angle and...

    Meucci's "The Pro Shaft"

I was just trying to understand with what reference are you aiming, say at 2/8 from center on the object ball (3/4 Cue ball hit) to pocket a 30 degree (or 1/2 ball hit) shot? If your bridge is on the Natural Pivot Point (NPP) of the cue, that would be one thing, but if the bridge is at 8” and...

    Meucci's "The Pro Shaft"

I wonder if you are lining up to the shot using center cue ball through the 2/8 mark using 9’Oclock BHEnglish, or Parallel Shifting?

New Barnhart Radial 29-1/2" Maple and Roasted Maple Shafts /Joint Protector--CONUSA Only.

Can you comment on how far from the Tip the Pivot Point is? My Kielwood/Plain Maple Combo Set both start to expand in taper at about 15” and with the Pivot Point being 12.5” on the PM and 13” on the Kielwood, it makes for an awkward follow through on more forceful shots. For short shots...

    TIGER FORTIS PRO

When doing your test, were you aiming using Parallel English? For those that prefer a more forward Pivot Point (ie-more deflection) in order to accurately aim using Backhand English (keeping pivot point of shaft on the Aim Line), it would be good to know how you determined the Squirt?

    BRIDGE LENGTH Effects and Considerations

I just bought a new Shane Gibson Cue and brought it to my local pool hall outfitted with New Blue Diamond Tables as well as new Simonis Felt! As per Dr. Dave’s very informative material on the subject, I first determined where the Pivot Point was by using a small low level laser I placed under...

Coring a forearm and leaving it empty in an attempt at moving the balance point

I said I have to release my “Index” finger, not “pinkie” finger as the shaft thickens right behind my closed bridge hand at the 12” Pivot Point. So if I were to have a long fast shot, then upon release of the Cue, my closed bridge is forced open, or if it’s slightly further back, then with it’s...

Coring a forearm and leaving it empty in an attempt at moving the balance point

I did say for a medium-strong shot and on a 9ft table, however if I were to go aggressive using only 6-8 inches backstroke as I’m surely able, I’ve found I’m more apt to miss as compared to easing into it using a longer stroke. But I may be the oddball out? Nevertheless, my question had to do...

Coring a forearm and leaving it empty in an attempt at moving the balance point

Well, I really appreciate everyone’s honest replies regarding my desire to reduce the weight evenly by 1 to 1.5 oz on my new Shane Gibson 59.5” 20 3/8 oz Cue, and after practicing with and playing in a couple league nights, just having a “straight Cue” puts a smile on my face, so for now, I’ll...

Coring a forearm and leaving it empty in an attempt at moving the balance point

I too have the same issue, however it’s with a Beautiful Brand New Shane Gibson Cue I just purchased! I have been feverishly trying to replace a Warped “Durbin“ Butt with one that’s longer yet also on the lighter side, but that’s been nearly impossible, so I went with the “SG” that measures out...
