    3d printed sub rail extensions.🤔

You can sand 3d printed plastics. Obviously some are easier than others. I actually thought about this after I mentioned trying petg. The up side of PETG is that is dimensionally accurate and is one of the most ductile printable plastics. So it won't shatter like others might. one down side of...

    3d printed sub rail extensions.🤔

Has anyone tried 3d printing sub rail extensions? I know I know in a world where tradition is everything this may be met with a lot of fire. Lol the best mechanics I've read a lot from on these forums have said, it's just wood to secure the extra cushion to. With today's 3d printing tech you...

Does anyone know anything about "Goldtek" cushions?

I had palmer Goldtek cushions on the gandy I was recovering. Literally no info on them. For the price I just replaced with tawainese (MBS) cushions. If I had a GC would have paid for super speed but for this gandy, MBS will suffice.

    Anyone know about Palmer cushions?

Yeah that's what I decided to do. It's an older gandy so was a little worried about opening any more cans of worms by taking rubber off. Luckily just had to Bondo a couple corners where facings were properly installed at some point. Also didn't want to end up taking off $200 higher end rubber...

    Anyone know about Palmer cushions?

Bump. Not a single reply is surprising. Time to start cushions I suppose 😂

    Anyone know about Palmer cushions?

I purchased an older gandy big g with drop pockets. After removing cloth I found it has these "Palmer Goldtek," cushions. Used the Google machine and searched here and could find ANYTHING. They are soft but was considering putting some tawainese cushions (MBS or similar). Since there is no info...

    P3 vs. c4 butt technology.

I agree. And typically I don't really feel all that much difference between butts outside of balance. I think what is bothering me with the sp2 is that the c4+ butt has a significant amount of phenolic. Looking at the predator website, the joint is either embedded in phenolic or screwed into...

Thank you for your insightful and well thought out response. I will keep that in mind. 🫡

    P3 vs. c4 butt technology.

This is actually the most relevant and helpful answer! Thank you. I know what a roadline/true splice feels like. As long as the P3 feels relatively similar but better, that's good. C4 in the sp2 is unlike anything I've ever hit. It feels and sounds like plastic/phenolic because it is.

    P3 vs. c4 butt technology.

I'm guessing you've never shot with a cue that has c4 butt. The sp2 with c4+ butt has significantly more phenolic in it. That definitely translates to the hit. So what you are saying is valid as far as materials feeling different. I've hit with wood, stainless and carbon joints, isn't the same...

    P3 vs. c4 butt technology.

Does the P3 have a *thud* or hollow hit when using extreme high ball or low ball? It's not the typical*ping* that people complain about with the Revo. The feedback I'm talking about is definitely from the butt.

    P3 vs. c4 butt technology.

So I purchased a predator sp2 zebrawood with Revo, hoping it would be my "forever cue." (We've all said that before😂). However, the feedback from the c4 butt is WAAAAAY different than anything I've ever felt. It's not bad, just very different. Certain hits make a *thud* or hollow sound. I have...

McDermott finally fixing the "tacky" defy problem... Hopefully.

I've used graphene car products and they are short lived. Considering using ceramic coating but am not certain it'd help with the tackiness. If it doesn't, the ceramic coating I have is nearly permanent. Didn't want to take a chance of it not helping and then having warranty voided. Whatever...

McDermott finally fixing the "tacky" defy problem... Hopefully.

When I spoke with McDermott, they said "the gel coat was to protect from UV rays."😂 I was like "wtf, didn't know people were out here playing pool on the beach." Ultimately, I think they put the coating on in order to be different. Either that or they didn't like the look of the processing. For...

McDermott finally fixing the "tacky" defy problem... Hopefully.

Sorry man but breathing is probably more toxic than sliding a cue across your hand. Do you think that they use completely safe chemicals in the process of making wood shafts? If you prefer wood, more power to ya! Different strokes for different folks. However, if I'm being honest, the reasoning...

McDermott finally fixing the "tacky" defy problem... Hopefully.

I'm actually not sure of the process. Since theyre doing it post production I'd say it's likely a thermal, electo or combo of both type of process. Only way I'd imagine it'd be permanent.

McDermott finally fixing the "tacky" defy problem... Hopefully.

I purchased a defy shaft with a cue of the month. Regardless of what everyone says, I prefer the hit and feel over just about every shaft. Deflection difference is negligible when you get into the revo, cuetec, black, defy etc. shafts. That being said, the defy shaft became unusable because it...
