Historic Cues. Do you have any?

I believe the old three veneer holds a spot on this thread. Beautiful cue, it features the exact same splice angle as the 4 veneer cue i posted previously.

    Joe balsis pool balls

When it comes to the age of the balls. The 169.6 gram blue circle cue ball that was sold with the Brunswick Ivorylene pocket balls code number 2-5-5 are close to the same material. The yellowing suggest they are close to the same age also. I do think its possible they are made of...

    Joe balsis pool balls

When looking at the set next to examples of aramith sets, I see several similarities as far as color codes and numbers. The 1990 Centennial set in the photo is the 2nd best set i own. Very impressive specs 1.7g of weight variation throughout the set. The set to the left i have...

    Joe balsis pool balls

They do appear to be raschig balls at a glance but I have spoken with a few other collectors the 4 5 15 cue ball spot size weight are all different than your typical raschig sets. I spoke with nihon tamadai the manufacturer who's name is on the case and who sponsored that...

Is this a Balner or maybe a Paradise?

Looks like a rambow with a different shaft, the phenolic looks different on the shaft and but cap bolt doesn't look correct. Maybe changed so a bumper could be used. Rambow used shellac and it definitely looks like a old shellac finish. Chemical testing will tell you for sure...

    Joe balsis pool balls

A set of balls that belonged to the great Joe Balsis. Due to the case being from Japan, and the same company name appears in the 1969 newspaper for the tournament. Maybe possible that they was used in the 1969 japan tournament. Not sure how to prove that but a cool piece of history.

    Purple heart refinish

It was made in 95. This is a picture from April this year. And what it looked like when I sent it to the cue maker. Its not my regular shooting cue so it never leaves that spot. Just a example of a future Hall of fame cue makers early work. I never said anything about the finish wearing off...

    Purple heart refinish

Thank for the reply, the problem is he has refinished it 2 times now only the bottom half for some reason in 2023.It had developed clear coat bubbles so I sent it back a couple weeks ago for him to look at. He refinished it again and put the wrong year date on it sent me a laughing emoji...

    Purple heart refinish

I sent my cue out to be fixed and refinish by the original maker. Long story short this is the end result. I received a email saying he has never seen this happen before in the 30 years he's been building cues, thank you for your business.. Can anything be done about the color mismatch ? Looks...
