    Rasson vs Diamond Tables

    Small pockets ruining the game

For years I played on Brunswick, Sam Hall any table from back in the 90's and early 2000's. YOu have to shoot and play these diamonds differently. You can't hit the short rail or long rail on the way to the pocket. If you do it better be slow rolling. That is exactly why I made a few...

    Small pockets ruining the game

your right I am one of them. Here's the deal tho. ALot of halls are replacing buckets with 4.5" diamonds. In some cases all of their tables. Obviously their choice. But for the amateur's that's a tough table for many hence the point of my post..

    Small pockets ruining the game

NAILED IT!!!! I play Tap and apa. They love the 4.5 diamonds when they can't even run the 4.75 tables (same cloth etc). LOL I know everyone wants to be a pro but most (me included) have to master the basics first. I don't mind a few 4.5 inch pockets for practicing and the pro players in the...

nine ball changes have changed the game

My point in using the apa as an example is their skill level 3 is by far the majority skill level among the billiard industry. Same goes for any other league tap, apa etc.

nine ball changes have changed the game

I'm trying to make sense of all of this. A lot of pool halls are changing over to the tighter pocket diamonds. I'm ok with that we need a few challenging tables, but a lot of players, me included struggle running out with the bigger pocketed tables consistently and that goes for some of the...

    Diamond 9ft Pocket size..

Thats interesting. The 4.75s i played on today i took a pic. Its got s small gap between the balls. About a 1/4 inch gap. Seems your shelf is a hair shorter.

    Diamond 9ft Pocket size..

Well i want to improve for sure. I keep going to the pool hall playing on the 4.5 9ft diamonds just to get familiar with them. The tables i play with during tap i believe are 4.75. My current table is a 8ft cheapie with 5 inch pockets which is too big. I have no doubt diamond sells more...

    Diamond 9ft Pocket size..

I found it pretty interesting how much difference it is playing on a diamond table with 1/4 inch pocket difference. Say 4.5 vs 4.75. Im looking at getting a 9ft diamond but those 4.5 inch pockets are tough on those long shots. I suppose thats how you get better. Anyone get the league cut...

    Break cue weight

Theres a handful of youtube videos out there that say heavier cues typically have higher break speeds. I found the same thing. I used 3 different cue weights. Basically bought 2 different extension sizes. Did breaks with bare cue, 3 inch extension and 6 inch extension. I was faster with...

    Best table...

The diamond ones at cues have them tiny pockets. Kennesaw billiards I know has 8s. They play awesome. I forget if they have diamond 9s. I think they do.
