Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

So after really experimenting with this for about a month now I’ve come to a conclusion about a few things. After some 8+ hour practice sessions over this weekend one thing I notice is that my eyes are not quiet at all. This was happening subconsciously and took a while for me to realize. So I...

Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

This definitely has merit and I would agree. The brain can make some really fast subconscious adjustments and send lightning fast signals to the nervous system.

Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

It’s very hard to make accurate predictions by watching videos. I’ve tried to study this a little and camera lenses do all kinds of funny things that distort perception. Really difficult to tell what they are really looking at. Would be interesting to pick some of these top pros brains and get...

Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

I wouldn’t use basketball, darts, or any other sports that don’t involve striking a ball or target with a type of club for comparison. Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

I would agree due to the fact that you are sending one ball into another but I wouldn’t say it’s completely unlike golf or others sports involving striking a ball. Ultimately you’re still striking a single object and sending it into a specific direction and the outcome of the direction and...

Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

Also would like to throw this in there, as I’m focusing on the cue ball I can still see the line and object ball in the distance. I try to let my brain absorb that information from the fuzzy background and let it become part of the whole shot picture. So not to completely ignore the object ball.

Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

But if you’ve already decided on the shot you will play, spin etc included, wouldn’t you say you already know what your object ball reaction will be? By the time you’re stroking the ball you are not making any adjustments based on object ball reaction because that will come after the cue ball is...

Discussion: Focusing on the cue ball compared to other sports

I want to talk about cue ball last before stroke compared to other sports that involve striking a ball. Please read on… I recently made a change to my game that has made a considerable impact to the consistency of my game. I switched from object ball last to focusing solely on the cue ball when...
