Was pool better 50 years ago?

Could you imagine Filler/Gorst/Carlo/SVB/etc playing on those old bucket tables? The packs they'd put together would be insane.

That bottle looks defective. Apparently has a leak...;)

    DigiBall Progress on new website

One engineer to another: this is ridiculously cool. The concept, the implementation, everything. Bravo sir. I'll be moving and getting a table this summer and will be right there on the first production pre-order list.

    Predator 'thin' butt

Make sure you get a good caliper and sanity check it. Bought a second one a few years back and it was consistently 4-5 thou off. Fine for stupid measurements like cues, but could be catastrophic when reloading (the original intent)...

    Pool Ball Collecting.

I'll have to look into that. Absolutely would still buy a book of ball sets and info about them.

Don't have a P-series, but they definitely feel slim.

Cues for home guests - house cues or your own?

Pool friends bring their own. I let my friends that don't have their own play with my SVB G1 "truck cue". If it's my old man or someone I'm really close to that I know won't screw around I'll let them use one of my Predators. Last time I played with dad I handed him my OG Predator. He was blown...

    Pool Ball Collecting.

I would absolutely buy a copy and probably some for friends as gifts. Especially if it had rules for the obscure games.

    Predator 'thin' butt

Which cue lines do they call "thin"? My Virtuoso is .5mm thicker than Throne and Blak (still can't believe I can feel the difference). I can get measurements when I get home if you want.

Fedor Gorst - looking for action in Louisville, KY tomorrow. If you could - would you?

I'd play Fedor for $100 in a heartbeat just to say I've had my ass kicked by one of the best in the world. Only condition is he signs my case. Would prefer 10b, but would take a lesson in 1p.

Need Jump AND break cue, would prefer to get both in one cue, suggestions?

Many of the J/B cues are good. I've got a J&J and a Players I used in the past and they were both great. One I traded my old Players playing cue for an the other was $120, I think. Switched to shiny new stuff a couple years ago just because I can.

    Solid vs layered tips

I must have gotten a bad one because the Sniper that came on my SVB Gen1 was the WORST tip i've ever played with. Miscues for days (especially on soft shots), didn't hold chalk, and looked like a portabella after a few sessions. Just made the switch from Kamui last week. I've been experimenting...

    Great Pool Room Stories

So glad these threads pop up. Some of these stories are as old as my parents lol.🫣 I've got 1 from a bar in northern MN (2010ish): I was 19, I think. Up in Pine City with my old man for fishing opener, which naturally involved more drinking than fishing. We'd troll the bars for pool and pull...

Second the q-tip and isopropyl. I use a bit of wax on mine after cleaning (little chunk of bike chain wax works great).

    Predator Men's 10 Ball JAX

I like small pockets for the pros, but i agree that at some point it starts to turn into a game of attrition. 4.25" standard for open events 4" for special/invitational events
