I am NOT asking which car I should buy. I am asking how I can improve how the cue hits!

    Schon STL-7

I have to respectfully disagree here. I remember playing around with Meucci cues and I could draw the hell out of the ball but I couldn't make many long off-angle shots with a Meucci. I think one of the effective chracteristics of being able to draw the ball is shaft deflection and the curvature...

I always thought Le Pro was some kind of industry standard cue tip. Isn't Le Pro the tip of choice for most cue makers?

I bought the cue new. I assumed it would have Le Pro tip. Will try a softer tip. Thanks for the advice.

    Schon STL-7

What I want is a Shon that hits like the R1 I owned many years ago. I don't like the hit of this cue and I can't draw well with it. I am looking for a Hail Mary here.

    Schon STL-7

Let me elaborate. I have owned several Shons over several years. This particular Schon doesn't have the same feel or enjoyable "hit" like the others. And yes I want a more whippy shaft that will allow me to draw the ball more effectively.

Thanks for sharing. But my questions is: If I request an additional shaft, what should I ask for? I think all Shon shafts have a pro taper.

    Schon STL-7

I just bought this cue. I am a little disapointed. The cue hits a bit stiff. The shaft doesn't have much whip. I need a second shaft. Any advice on what kind of shaft (specs) I should order for this cue to play with a bit more deflection?

I just check the Schon website and the shaft sizes vary widely. See the screenshot below:

Its a brand new cue. I am thinking that the person on the phone gave me the wrong information.

    New Schon Cues

I've been playing pool off and on for a few decades. I stopped playing for the last 10 years or so and I have never seen numbers like this before. I thought the standard size was 13 mm, 12.5mm and lower onto the snooker cues that get down to 10mm or smaller. I thought maybe the standard sizes...

    New Schon Cues

I just ordered a STL - 7. The shaft is described as a 12.7 mm. The tip (Le Pro) is described as 13 mm. Does this mean that when the cue is retipped the person replacing the tip, starts with a 13 mm tip and uses a lathe to widdel a 13 mm tip down to 12.7 mm? Thanks in advance,

How Important Is it to Own/Use a Break Cue

Some players keep a break cue in their pool case. How necessary is this?

I think it would be a nice touch. I've never seen anyone with such a set-up. Why wouldn't you want such a set-up?
