That World Blackball final he played flawless pool. Honestly don't think he missed a shot in the whole match. There was no shot clock, but Jayson was so confident that he was taking about 5 seconds a shot. Loved this shot and the fact it provoked an ooh la la from the French commentators...

Jayson has started this match poorly. Terrible positional shot by SVB there, can't blame Tyler for missing that, was actually a decent effort at a low percentage shot, though I wonder if Europe faced with the same shot would have played safe?

I've got to say I like the atmosphere element to the Mosconi, but I can't believe they let people in with airhorns. Feel like that's asking for trouble. Thankfully, nobody has let one off whilst a player has been down on their shot

Cloth not sliding, think my missed 9 would have went in if it was. Never measured pockets, it was a Rasson table in the venue that hosts the Scottish Open. Think they are tighter than a lot of clubs(it's the main place I play and whenever I play anywhere else I feel like I'm suddenly 100 times...

set up the cueball, 8 and 9 exactly as it was for Tyler's miss v Mouritz yesterday. Was first thing I did at table so wasn't warmed up. Set it up 3 times. Got better position than Tyler ever time, but have to admit I missed the 9 once. I'm a very mediocre player and apparently that finish is...

I'm still getting used to US pool terminology, but I believe Sky hit it so hard as he's what Brian from FX Billiards would call a banger

Snooker is the same as 9 ball. It has one event where it's accepted (snooker shootout/Mosconi) and it's not accepted at any other events

Does Emily actually like pool. Whenever I see her in the background she's on her phone not actually paying attention to the pool

I don't own a jump cue so I'm completely ignorant about how difficult jump shots are. David Alcaide jumping over the ball he's snookered behind only for it to bounce over the object ball, would you consider that a mistake by the player or is it just unlucky?

the UK commentator said he spoke to Moritz about it, and apparently he does it as part of his pre-shot routine once he's sure of the shot he wants to play. Thinks it helps him focus

I feel like SVB wasted half Sky's time there trying to give advice and they didn't have an extension and it made him rush, miss and ultimately cost USA the point. There was a point Jayson was coaching Lebubu that it felt counter productive too. Sometimes you just need to let your teammate shoot.

Jayson and Joshua have both been encouraging people to make noise when the European is on the 9

I'm sure I'm not the only European that celebrated Tyler potting that. Would have been horrible to see him miss another one. Do feel like his positional shots have been poor towards end of frames that's put him in these positions. But glad he finally got one over the line

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Mosconi is organised by Matchroom. Early Mosconi's were in London every year. Nobody really knew what 9 ball was in the UK back then so Matchroom(who also promote snooker) packed the European team full of snooker players that would be a draw to British people, but had no experience of actually...

As a European I hope Tyler wins his frame. Would hate from him to have another big miss

yeah I was thinking the same thing. He was up against snooker players who literally only played 9 ball for 4 days a year.

I always really enjoy the team match. Feel quite often you get interesting tactical frames when a player doesn't get a good break, as they don't want to take any risks when it's only 1 frame

Jayson would have been encouraging them to be louder Personally I think the sort of continuous rising note thing when someone is down on the shot is fine. I think shouting randomly when they are down on the backstroke is more of an issue, that's the kind of thing that makes you flinch and miss...

That was really impressive cueing to get into the ball so well. He followed it with a horrendous positional shot to almost stuff up the finish, though got there in the end
