It's always the Indian Boyz and Girls

I think motorsports is an outlier where the result is more heavily weighted towards the equipment than the human. Pretty sure if you put me in a Ferrari against Lewis Hamilton in a milk float I'd win. Not sure there is any other sport where bad equipment can completely negate skill. Give Tiger...

Why Your Skill Doesn’t Matter in Matches - Just in Practice

Can't remember where it was I heard it (might even have been sharivari as I like his videos), but remember someone advocating that when you miss you should just say to yourself, ok I'm human, mistakes are inevitable, now lets try and go as long as I can before making the next mistake. Quite...

Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

https://probilliardseries.com/event/2026-las-vegas/teams-world-championship/ Interesting the teams aren't all the same size, most countries have 3 players, but some have went for 4 or 5 players

curious (if you don't mind sharing) how much a lesson with Filler costs? Sounds like it would be a great experience.

Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

Just watched that on Youtube, was a really entertaining tactical battle. At the start I thought it was Joshua that was going to 3 foul SVB too. Really turned it around.

WNT PREMIER LEAGUE OF POOL 2026, Miami, Fla, Feb. 18-22

He said recently on his Youtube channel that he'd be focussing on hey ball as that's where the money is. Was really surprised to see him pop up in this event. Maybe Matchroom gave him a decent appearance fee as they were struggling to find enough players since they decided to clash with a...

WNT PREMIER LEAGUE OF POOL 2026, Miami, Fla, Feb. 18-22

I love watching him play. He's a really creative shot maker. Do wonder how well he'd do if he stuck to one cue sport as he divides his energy between UK pool (which has a smaller cue ball), 9 ball and Hey Ball. He was even a snooker pro for a while. Don't think the chopping and changing between...

    Specialized Chalks - Pricing/Performance/Pre-shot routine/etc.

For decades was a triangle chalk user. Tbh wasn't unhappy with it, but tried Taom (green) to see what all the fuss was about and would never go back. Other chalks feel so messy in comparison and it just goes on so nicely. Don't know how long they last as my original one is still going strong...

Ronnie O'Sullivan does a jump shot - in a snooker match.

He beat Earl in the 1996 Mosconi. Think that was the first he'd ever played and he was a last minute replacement for Jimmy White so he probably didn't have much practice before the event:

    Pagulyan Carbon Fiber shaft?

Scotch is a whisky, you can't be related to it. The people are Scots or Scottish. Sorry know I'm being pedantic, but as a Scot it just sounds ridiculous to me, like someone claiming to have American heritage saying they were part bourbon would sound to you(admittedly there was a French royal...

    Predator Men's 10 Ball JAX

Are there any disadvantages to low deflection cues? Saw Gareth Potts (top UK 8 ball and Chinese 8 ball player) and Gary Wilson (snooker pro that occasionally plays pool) arguing about it on Facebook once. Potts seemed to think there were some shots you just can't play with a low deflection cue...

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

funnily enough I actually have been trying to practice stop shots recently. When I started playing I was focussed on learnig how to hit follow and draw and never occured to me stop shot was something I needed to learn. Was only recently I tried to do the Billiard University playing exam on here...

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

I've tried the whole hitting it up and down the table thing to see if the cue ball comes back to your cue tip. Turns out I'm really good at hitting the centre. But if I try and hit the bottom centre and get it to come back to the cue tip, it feels like an impossible task. I do feel I miss more...

Jayson Shaw to play Blackball World Championship?

Well it is (Indian Pale Ale), but it's also the International Pool Association: https://ipapool.com/ They are basically the recognised official promoter for Blackball rules pool

Left handed chalk - for left eye dominant players

In snooker Neil Robertson is left handed but holds his cue under his right eye. Maybe another player you could watch for inspiration on stance? He looks very natural playing like that. Though not sure if I'm replying to a joke post as surely left handed chalk isn't a thing?

Jayson Shaw to play Blackball World Championship?

Not sure if this is serious or not, but commentators on recent IPA final mentioned Jayson Shaw might be playing in Worlds this year 😲

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

That World Blackball final he played flawless pool. Honestly don't think he missed a shot in the whole match. There was no shot clock, but Jayson was so confident that he was taking about 5 seconds a shot. Loved this shot and the fact it provoked an ooh la la from the French commentators...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Jayson has started this match poorly. Terrible positional shot by SVB there, can't blame Tyler for missing that, was actually a decent effort at a low percentage shot, though I wonder if Europe faced with the same shot would have played safe?

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

I've got to say I like the atmosphere element to the Mosconi, but I can't believe they let people in with airhorns. Feel like that's asking for trouble. Thankfully, nobody has let one off whilst a player has been down on their shot

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Cloth not sliding, think my missed 9 would have went in if it was. Never measured pockets, it was a Rasson table in the venue that hosts the Scottish Open. Think they are tighter than a lot of clubs(it's the main place I play and whenever I play anywhere else I feel like I'm suddenly 100 times...
