watching this thread like a hawk as I just ordered a Little Monster jump/break cue.

if you buy good tables, people will come. We had 30 players for the 9 ball weekly tournament last night. The rest of the pool hall was also full. I guess it was a good night for the owner. I finished 2nd so a good night for me too.

I don't know how it is in the US but where I live (in Quebec), it's the gambling lottery machine that keeps the pool hall alive and pays the bill. The pool is only because the owner likes pool. We get between 20 and 30 players 3x a week to play in tournaments but the money the lottery machine...

it is an older gentleman and gentlewoman sport. In my local pool hall, the average is way more toward retirement than young people.

If you ever want to switch over to software. I am here for you. We got some pretty good solution for room operators.

if we all put the same efforts towards improving our skills that we do shopping for the next best pool cue that will elevate our game, we would be so much better at pool

I know many people who loved or hates all cue brand but I never came across anyone who didn't like a Joss Cue.

Let me tell you my experience with Joss Cues. I called the phone number. Talk to the guy who builds the cue. We have a nice conversation about the work he does. Nicest guys around. I ordered a cue. I was happy. Every experience should be like that.

I have a Joss Cue. Best purchase I have ever made. My Cuetec SVB sits in the case ever since.

may I ask what software you are using ? are you happy with it ?

There is some polyester and some phenolic on Ali or Temu. you do have to look closely

that is true but now you can find a set in China made of phenolic that is just as good when it comes to material. The only differences is the QA is not as good as Aramith. So it's possible the variance between balls are bigger than Aramith.

I am sorry to revive this thread ? do you guys use the paid version of Challonge or the free version ? I am wondering how you guys feel about all these subscription services for tournament management versus having your own software offline where you own and keep your data to yourself
