I haven't watched all of the matches, but that seems to be exceptional- most players seem to be struggling on the break. Even Shane was struggling to make a ball.
why don't they use racking templates? Seems like most players are having trouble making balls on the break- is that what they want? It would also save time as it takes the refs quite a while to rack the balls
I agree for the most part in terms of pro 8 ball on 9 footers. I like watching 8 ball on bar tables- it is interesting to see how they deal with tie ups- how they break them out
I wouldn’t mind seeing the pros play on larger pockets with slower cloth like the 1980s or 90s- would be nice to see them have to power up to get the ball around the table
could Tyler have just told Justin to keep shooting or did he have to actually take a shot? What an absurd call. Stuff like this infuriates me- so ticky tack. It was blatantly obvious to any pool player what Justin was attempting.
not 50 years ago, but this match from 35 years ago is highly entertaining. Ronnie Allen could still play quite well at age 52. Aside from his awful break, he could really play 9 ball even though his reputation was that he was a one pocket specialist:
These high runs are often stymied by getting pinned or jammed up, not missing straight in shots. Also, larger pockets also increase the risk of scratching. Sure, ball pocketing is easier, but are some drawbacks as well.
I’m definitely interested- I live about 25 miles away, so I could only really make it on weekends. Want to get back into playing on 9 foot tables- used to play at HOB in Santa Monica and Hard Times. I have a 7 footer in my garage and play on 7 footers in league
