they should brainstorm about how they won in 2018 and 2019. It was basically the same level of talent (if not better now with Gorst on the team).
They are underdogs for sure, but they shouldn't lose this badly every year and should actually win here and there with the right coaching and personnel
I was referring to his bar table 8 ball game- he is still great in that game. I am joking though because of course they are not going to switch it to bar table 8 ball
Obviously Thorpe and Styer are great players, but the pressure is enormous and it is even worse after losing every year- they start out so tight. They should probably try a whole new cast of players that doesn’t have such a negative history hanging over their heads
he is still in his 30s- I feel like Dechaine and Bergman could still compete with anyone if they chose to be fully dedicated to pool, but I guess they don't want to compete full time for different reasons- travel, money
I think Sky is friends with Bergman too. As you mentioned, perhaps travel was a factor. Bergman also needs to start playing 9 footers more to be seriously considered for the MC
I know people like to knock these tournaments because they are on 7 footers, but that is the size of table 8 ball should be played on.
I really like these tournaments- fun to see pros play bar table 8 ball- they have to negotiate breakouts. The shot clock is great too- keeps the matches moving...
maybe 1 or both of them need to take a break from the MC for a year. I know they are great players, but not at the MC for some reason- SVB in particular almost always seems to under-perform
Looks great. I'm jealous that you have the space. I have a table in my garage, but I need short cues for shots too close to the rail as it is tight quarters on each side. Length-wise, plenty of space, but not width
Depends on the age limit- he may be the best player over 60- although Bustamante would definitely challenge him. There are several guys in their fifties who would likely be favored against Earl. Part of the problem is that you never know when he will meltdown and basically quit
Most pro players don’t break from the side in terms of the 2nd ball break. The main exception that comes to mind is Corey Deuel who is great at the 2nd ball break
Mika played one of the best matches I’ve ever seen here- firing balls in from everywhere. You could make a very solid argument that Mika played the best 9 ball ever from 2008-2010
