Dangers of having a non handicapped league with matches to 100?

I just saw this. I don't get on here much lately. My high run is 34 on my home table, 4 x 8 Brunswick Wellington When our league was at SnookerS in Cincy we played on 9 ft. Robertsons with easy pockets (Gold Crown clones) My high run there was 28. I ran 24 a few times and ran 14 to 18 more times...

Dangers of having a non handicapped league with matches to 100?

We pay $10 league fee (plus table time). Winner gets back $15 I think. Loser gets a little bit. Couple of bucks goes to a season ending party and skills contest.

Dangers of having a non handicapped league with matches to 100?

The way the Cincinnati Straight Pool League used to be run was this. All 32 players were split in two divisions, all skill levels mixed together. In the playoffs they would run 4 groups of 8 players, with players of similar skill level placed on the same board. That way I got to play higher...

Dangers of having a non handicapped league with matches to 100?

I would have to second what Slach said. We play to 100 once a week. Sometimes I might only get one win in 8 matches. But it is fun , good practice and always a learning experience. We don’t play on a particular night. We call the other players to schedule a match. The biggest problem is getting...

    I need a 3 and a 4 for a Monday night APA 8-ball team near Cincinnati

Gentlemen, I am probably wasting my time but I need to try this anyway. I had 1 player quit and another broke her arm in the last month so I am in a pinch. I need a 3 and a 4 (or two 3’s) for a Monday night APA 8-ball team. This is a team that has qualified for the City 13 of the last 14 years...

APA Rules Question - Pushing through

Yes indeed. There has never been a push shot called in my local area APA that I am aware of. My LO might have been informed that they would be calling it at the Nats but he's not real good about communicating.

APA Rules Question - Pushing through

In the situation the OP describes I would consider that unsportsmanlike but the question at that point would be "Is it worth arguing over"? In APA sometimes you have to pick your battles. In regards to push shots, as someone posted, the APA rule says they are too hard to call. Imagine my...

APA team 8-ball in Vegas-anybody going?

Hey thanks a lot Scott. I hope things are well with you. Thanks everyone for the responses and may you all get good rolls. We got some good rolls this time around and that's part of the reason we finally won, after playing bridesmaid at least 3 times in 13 tries. Look me up. I'll be the tall guy.

APA team 8-ball in Vegas-anybody going?

Anybody going? We finally won our first City Championship Tournament last week and are heading to Vegas in August. I've been out there twice with my wife who qualified with an APA Ladies team. I played in some minis and actually won one, I would love to hear from anyone who is going or...

Dick Van Dyke - Hustling the Hustler

It was Bobby. He hustled Mr. Brady's boss (Jim Baccus) IIRC then felt bad about it.

    14.1 Primer

I agree with Rich about Rempe's "How to Run a Rack". I think I have that Fels book. I can copy the pertinent info if you want. I don't get on here much so email me. Babe Cranfeld's Straight Pool Bible is an easy read. But it's 100 pages, not 5.
