Jasmin Ouschan figuring out her dad's old full deflection Meucci

Her dad was very strong. A former Austrian national champion: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albin_Ouschan_senior

    Ralf Souquet great safety

Those German guys love doing the wagon wheel drill. I would bet Souquet gets out from there with BIH 8/10 times. Unfortunately, we'll never actually know as Bustamante made a nice kick to avoid giving up BIH.

I watched a live stream of an 800 Fargo rate player, competing in a $20 weekly tournament, recently.

Pretty good idea and I would love to see that happen, but I think it doesn't simply because there are better alternatives. I think the caliber of pro that would draw lines for $50 sets can do other, easier things, like give lessons or do those bullshit risk-free "challenge matches".

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

Pretty good overview of Wu's journey: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18ZQtFSPgr/. The second half is basically paraphrasing what he said in the post-match interviews. I found this part very interesting I feel like you don't often hear about direct competitors training like this together...

Time and effort required to reach Fargo 400, 500, 600

These seem like top 1% numbers IMO. Also, the jump from 500 to 600 doesn't make sense.

Love the theatrics at the end where they just give him a mound of cash and burlap bags to stuff it all in 💰

I'll take a look when I get home but I was watching with no audio. Loved the outpour of emotions though. That sobbing at the end was so real 🥹

I actually am curious if the pockets on the Duya tables differ from the Joy tables we've seen in Heyball. @Flakeandrun had mentioned in another post that they are subtly different. For the Joy tables, the pockets were definitely not easier than snooker for down the rail shots. They are the same...

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

Post match interview with Ko about how it feels to lose a heartbreaker like that: No, your right - they do favor mixing in international players for viewership. Foreign (including Taiwan and Hong Kong) players get to skip directly to the stage two draw, which skips a large chunk of the...

I've never seen Ko so stressed and frantic at the end there.

Arizona Open 2026, Yuma, August 13-16

Yes, the Philippines Open. However, I'm guessing that had more to do with it being set in the biggest shopping mall in the middle of the biggest city in the most pool crazed nation on earth. I think the vibe in Yuma might be a bit different.

Incredible that he didn't even win that open tournament. Looks like it was single elimination and he lost to George Antonakis, a 750 rated pro.

Most handicapping systems retain some advantage to the higher level player. But also, at this level you run into caps on race length. For example, my match against Neuhausen should have been 4-14 for truly even odds based on our ratings, but it was capped at 10, which gives him an advantage...

    2026 Billard Beckmann Men’s Open

I bet Vogel's rating is much lower than his recent play. He's probably already playing like an 810+ and his rating just hasn't caught up.

Happens all the time in NYC! It's one of the nice things about living in a major metro area. They'll just randomly drop by and play our local tournaments, both handicapped and unhandicapped. Francisco Bustamante just dropped by a couple weeks ago and took down one of the open ones. Here's me...

$1.5M first place prize for Chinese tournament next week

The flyer in the first post shows the payout amounts. 33rd-64th places all got paid ¥20k, approximately $2950. Coincidentally the same as the US Open, where 33rd-64th paid $3k.
