I agree with you completely. If I were going to have something like that done, and the cue were mine, I would leave the original shafts untouched, and have an extra "LD" shaft made for the cue. 👍

If you decide to place the cue on eBay, let us know. 👍

I tend to share some agreement here. IF the gen 1/2 shafts had/have such a known issue with the coating...Why would you charge your customers to remedy something that should have been right in the first place? I'm not knocking the folks at McDermott, but it does seem to be a fair question. 🤷

I believe the newer Defy shafts had a different configuration/look than the first gen. I could be wrong...

Contact the folks at McDermott first. Give them a chance to make things right. 👍

The leveling would be paramount. I've played in a few bars where I almost made a ball on the lag...And those were bar-boxes! 😱😂
