Racking At The US BB Championship

I'm here at the USBTC. There has been zero talk about manipulation of the Magic Racks themselves to make balls more wired. The Problem is 9-ball itself and pattern racking. 9-ball is a broken game! I watched Shane and Jayson Shaw teach a bunch of friends how to soft break and rack the balls...

    BCAPL 8 Ball League question

Call the office like Mark said if you want further details, specifically the "HOW" people are bucketed. There are now 5 divisions. Grand Master (anyone can play in) Master Advanced Open Leisure (Lower level OPEN, like APA players)

Tourney is this coming weekend! We've been bombarded with persons trying to figure out which rating they would be so that they could play. We've broken down our justification on the AZPoolScene Forum for all to see. http://forums.azpoolscene.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=414 Hope to see you all...

    Arizona Handicap Question?

I quit the committee about 3 years ago, but there are still quite a few rooms that are represented. Jimmy Brewer is the Stingers Rep Chris Carpenter is the Chairman Kitty still reps Kitty's (I think) Jessie Renteria/Thor was Main St Mesa Kolby's - no idea Bullshooters doesn't really have one...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

I applaud and appreciate the decision that was made! It's a tough business with the loudest, most unappreciative people as the main customers. A language barrier is a tough thing to overcome thousands of miles apart, and I can only commend the leg work that had to be done very quickly (2-3...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Just a suggestion: - If the decision is to indeed divide the $18K up to other players in the tourney, would it not make sense to disperse it evenly to all the players that are now going to be bumped to Advanced/Master, but had no real chance of actually winning the tournament? Top 48, minus...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

You might want to find out exactly if all of the ladies will indeed be moved up to Advanced, because last year teams of players didn't get moved up if they competed in Singles and didn't break the threshold.

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

I don't believe that rule applies any longer. I think it went away with the creation of "Team Master" a few years ago, and then ultimately with the "Advanced" division. The requirement now is just that you have 3 original players that qualified together on the same team in League (8+ weeks)...

:frown: Only the 2 players, not the 3rd?

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Players that get in the top 16 from team, who DID NOT play singles OR DID get in the top 48 in singles will be bumped individually to ADVANCED. The issue about dumping is that players can play singles, get to 49th place, triple their entry, dump, and could win the team and/or scotch doubles and...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Just ran the numbers from 2012, and this player who dumped in 2011 cashed in 3 events this year for a grand total of $1,785. And guess what, he'll be in the OPEN Division again next year!

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Easy answer is that they understand the Loop Hole of the BCAPL in raising people from one division to another. If a team fields 5 OPEN Players and they finish in the top 16 teams then they would all be moved up to Advanced the following year, UNLESS, individually they played in the OPEN Singles...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Great Points! I completely agree! (Steve Lillis can go next to Robin) I hope the 40 practice/mini tournament tables are available for practice before matches and not completely locked up with mini's.

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Unfortunately it's true Mark. I saw it in 2011 first hand when a player who usually finishes in the top 16 in Scotch Doubles and top 32 in Teams was playing in the OPEN Singles, got to the 49th-64th place, was drilling the guy 4-0 and started shooting the 8 ball directly into the pocket...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Well, I believe there is more added money to the higher divisions already and it's structured that way. But with 1200 players entering the lower division it still has the largest payout. The advanced division is still fairly new and I think it will grow in a few years time. I just wish we...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

You probably got the audio somewhere, cause I'm fairly positive that the question was asked about how far some of the Taiwan players would have had to travel to play with each other. Either way, I spoke with one of the girl translators of Yeo Lu who told me directly that they were from all over...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Um, not necessarily! Players are ranked by "Known Ability" before coming in the first time. We have players in Arizona that were marked as "Advanced" before this year and they have never played at Nationals even once. If someone is PRO caliber or Top Amateur in a different country, why in the...

BCA Open team from TAIWAN disqualified?

Which would make ALL of them too strong to play in the OPEN Division. Hopefully the League Operator is held accountable.
