hello, is my stance correct ;) ?

i think as long as u can sight, align, swing freely, stand comfortably, deliver a str stroke, and be able to repeat all these, its good for u. but bear in mind there are shots that require adjustments, such as jackups, weird positions, etc etc. a consultation with instructors would do the job.

Is It The Change? Or Just Me?

i guess its juz partially mental and partially getting ur body to adjust to the new poise. u've ran dozens of racks b4, but there're some things that can never be accomplished without good fundamentals, which you're now doing. congratulations! my experience in changing stances and other...

    Draw Problem

hi sorry, it may seem OOT, but i have a qn here; there seems to be 2 types of draw that i unconsciously use. the punchy type (skids in air) and the follow thru type (spins on cloth)... am i right about this? re the advice on stroke type for draw shots, does it mean the follow thru should...

What difference does a whippiness in cue makes?

righto. in order to control that deflection, the bridge distance is increased, and i find i'd to make a tonne of changes just to accomodate that. agreed?

i think it depends on the student as well.

    When did you start?

i first held a snooker cue in a training institute when i was 18. got hooked in potting balls without knowledge how the game was played. started to take notice of pool when i got banged by a pool player who would do u-turns with the CB on snooker balls to get crazy break points. DID I MENTION...

    Second ball 8 ball break?

I play with Aramith TV balls, 9 ft simonis 760. Breaking from horizontal line of the first diamond by long rail, right or left side of the table, between 1st and 2nd diamond of the short rail. i aim between the 2nd ball and 8 ball. 1 tip or more, diagonally below center. On tight racks, wing...

What difference does a whippiness in cue makes?

Well, whippier shafts do give more spin. I got this verified with my own eyes/ears when one of the national players here with a stiff shaft tried my cue. However, the next thing he did mentioned is inconsistency if the fundamentals of the player is not solid enough. I didn't understood what...

Do you dip the cue on follow-through?

very interesting way of relating. i see what you're talking about. hmm... but what about obstructions to force a different bridge length? assuming i have a level cue for centre ball impact at a certain bridge length, i'll need to move in nearer to hit follow or draw. what if there's...

What difference does a whippiness in cue makes?

Fury NR series. Somehow the one that i'd was totally different from my friend's. Mine was more even balanced, and whips the crap out of the CB. Is it recommendable for a 10 month baby like me? I'd tried a Falcon TS2 recently and fell in love with the hit. Thats why i'm asking this now... I...

Do you dip the cue on follow-through?

Totally agree. I noticed this while practising my strokes thru a bottle opening and hitting boiled fruits. MAUHAHAHAHA. actually the tip goes in an S arc if there's no elbow drop. with elbow drop, it goes in a cresent. still, everyone's different. i think the key here is level cue on point...

What difference does a whippiness in cue makes?

What difference does the whippiness of a shaft makes? Hi all experienced players. Would like some feedback on the above! :D My feel is a stiffer shaft will help in training stroke fundamentals. I'm currently using a horrendoterrousibly whippy shaft, it gives me the shakes and vibrations...

    Best Shaft Cleaner ?

i dunno if the japanese brand of white melamine sponge is available in the states. if my cue shaft gets heavily stained, a few drops of water on the sponge and then followed by burnishing with the porper leather burnisher does it best. in my earlier attempts, i'd managed to raise the grains by...

    Cue Ball goes BOING!

i've little waves on my chalk! looks like an elevated cross on the chalk with the 4 corners gone. re what Mr Jewett mentioned, i agree that there're many ways to get a good draw. i'd tried elevating at 60 degrees approx and got a table length draw before. key is a straight swipe into the CB...

hahahah yeah. u'll be here on wednesday? sad to say, i can't think of any classy halls with pro players... perhaps the only place i can think of is in Bugis, which is 20 mins away from the airport. what kind of high end cues are u looking at? > 2000 SGD?
