Somebody actually dug out this rule tonight!!!

This used to be illegal in APA, but they changed the rule 2 years ago or so. To me it's the same as holding your finger on the rail until they line up. The only difference being that you have to remove your finger before they shoot. Although, now that a piece of chalk can be left there it...

With everything I'm reading I have to try these out. Can you PM me your info? I'd like 5 of them.

    CTE aiming.

Just curious: since pocket location is seemingly irrelevant for CTE to work, does that mean it would be equally effective on this table?

Bar Box Wanted - So. Cal Area

Unfortunately, with the times as they are right now, it's $1500 total. Not that I don't understand. Thanks to everyone who has replied. I'll be in touch with everyone that has been suggested.

Bar Box Wanted - So. Cal Area

Looking for 2 used coin-op bar boxes for my local watering hole (the ones they have now would be better off as firewood). They need to be in fairly good shape (level, sturdy, etc.) but I don't mind replacing felt and cushions if necessary. I'm in Covina (So. Cal) and can't really afford...

You know you're obsessed with pool when...

When you accidentally smack your girlfriend in the face because you had your arm draped over her and you were dreaming about breaking. (Luckily she understood.)

    Caption this photo ?

Picture taken moments after this sentence: "I eat pool for breakfast, lunch and dinner - and to prove it, I'll swallow this cue ball right here!"

    Help me locate something

I think it's not in production any more, so you might have a hard time finding it. Here's an eBay auction (for $82.00?!!)...

I just have to play "this guy" some.

The guy who lifts up one side of a barbox and drops it to the ground to get a stuck ball out. (...and then complains that the table isn't level). The sideline "coach" spouting bad advice to people who didn't ask for it.

    "Tips" of english

That is another valid route to take; however, the word "tip" is already widely accepted as a unit of measure. The problem is, that unit has not been standardized. When you hear the word "inch" or "foot" you know the distance being referred to because it has been standardized. Since the word...

    "Tips" of english

Well, it doesn't look like any of the current definitions rely on tip diameter as it is anyway, and there is a range of tip diameters out there. I think trying to define a standard based on a variable is counter-productive. True, the cue ball size is a variable, but the definition is in terms...

    "Tips" of english

Judging from the widely varied responses it looks like the definition of a "tip" is pretty arbitrary, so I'd like to propose one and maybe if everyone agrees on it then there won't be any more confusion. Standard Tip of English: 1/4 of the distance from the center of the cue ball to the edge of...

    Conversion cues

A local cuemaker used to do that for people using (I believe) Dufferin cues. I'm pretty sure he charged $125 for the work which included joint collars and a pro taper.

    "Tips" of english

When people describe using english and say they're using 2 "tips" of left or right, how much is that? If it's 1 tip diameter then assuming a 13.5mm tip, 2 tips would be 20.25mm from center. Since a cueball is 57.15mm in diameter (call it 57), half of that, which would be centerball, is at...

problem in ( Draw Shot )

The main problem, as mentioned many times before, is that you are not delivering the tip of the cue low enough on the cueball on the final stroke. If you don't want to fix your stroke, or just don't know how right now, here's a shortcut that might help: When you take your practice strokes, aim...

Suggestions from players needed for Amateur-Advanced division play

You're right. I read it wrong. I was under the impression the sentence was still talking about the Am-Adv tournament.

Suggestions from players needed for Amateur-Advanced division play

Just a small correction, but I think you mean to say: If you [DO NOT] fall into any of the above top 4 categories the Viking Cue "Open" 9-Ball Tour is the division for you.

Ron V aiming system video and diagrams

The disconnect is with the term "movement". By movement, you mean that the base of the bridge hand doesn't move (as in slide across the table), and others interpret it as meaning that the bridge hand might as well be frozen in liquid nitrogen and glued to the table.

8 ball What do you do???

I think I'd try to do something like this: http://CueTable.com/P/?@4AWAe2HYqF4IQfi3JCos3KBiW3LGAP3MMSU3NOvY4ODXL3PELN4UWAe3UbAu3UAma3kELN3kbJR3kFMk4kbQr4kYde1kSKj@ And I would probably fail miserably try to execute it, but I'd try it anyway.
