Why Your Skill Doesn’t Matter in Matches - Just in Practice

You need to be able to play under pressure. Usually that means gambling …. BUT that doesn’t mean you have to play for money. I remember a place my friends and I would play that had live bands on the weekend and a dance floor. The bet? Whoever lost had to approach the ugliest girl in the room...

Unaware of mismatched ball sets in upcoming tournament.

I’ve played in some local tournaments where the rips in the cloth were covered in duct tape, there was one rack for 3 tables, the rack had 3 four balls in it and one end of the table was off the floor supported by a floor jack because the floor was so out of level. Fun times! 😀

Best to Say Nothing at All?

I shook hands with a guy after a match and he said, “thanks for the lesson” Kind of cold but all I could come up with was, “no charge “ We had a few beers after that so all was good!

    Mini-Demo: for what it's worth

You really need to find an instructor, or at least a seasoned player, to help you. Your bad habits will be harder to correct the longer you wait. You talk about all the things you “see” or don’t “see” but you seem to confuse “perception“ with “execution” . Just because you can see what someone...

    Seybert’s shipping prices

On 12/13/25 I ordered a Christmas present for my daughter in law who lives in Peoria, Illinois. It was supposed to be there before Christmas. On 12/17/25 it was in East Peoria, across the river from Peoria, with delivery scheduled for the next day. The next day it was sent to Winnipeg, Canada...

For pure feel, which wrap is best between Wild Stallion, Bison, Spanish Bull or Shrunken Goat?

It depends on the player. Do you prefer the feel of T or A? It’s all subjective

    best cue tip tool

The $100 dollar bill is the best method for sure. I was in Vegas once, went into this place with all these women around and asked .. “would anywhere here work on my tip for $100” . My tip was finished in no time!

Got my new Diamond today from the factory.

How does pocket size affect shelf depth? If so is there a tool that a “good” table mechanic could rent, not like he’ll need it often, to take a little off the slate to reduce the depth without affecting anything else, or am I just totally clueless?

Advantages or Disadvantages does it make a difference Stepping into the shot vs. stepping back from the shot?

I’ve noticed that more and more younger pros are using the two step method taught by Mark Wilson. Line up square behind the shot line then step to the left, or slightly on, the shot line with your right foot and then step in with your left. I step in with left but don’t do the two step, just...

Hard to Find the Center of the Cue Ball

I do the same, each year I spend a week or two using nothing but the vertical axis of the CB. It’s not only surprising how much you can move the CB around without side but also how important it is not to get out of line as your options are limited. It’s also important to keep the balls clean as...
