    John Schmidt new run

It’s from earlier this year. https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/john-schmidt-runs-820.585407/ I watched it over a couple days. It was pretty good, actually. SSOP has a nice video on it also. -td

    7 and the Last two

And the same holds true if you get the last 3 and he misses on the 8. You still have to make a ball on your turn to win. -td

    Pool chalk

Dr. Dave has collected and presented empirical data and video for many years. This is knowable information for anyone that actually desires to understand it. Your anecdotal evidence is factually irrelevant unless it was done scientifically and presented for review. To be honest, I'm not sure...

    Pool chalk

Silly response. Sponsorship is disconnected from any issue anyone raised. Taom has fewer kicks regardless of sponsorship opportunities. [put differently, your prior statement that the differences are minimal is still valid from a tip offset perspective but also still invalid from cleanliness...

    Pool chalk

Considering only the amount of applied English, this statement is true as Dr. Dave has shown. But it is demonstrably false for cleanliness, including chalk residue on the cue ball and resulting kicks. That’s one of the reasons the “new” chalks are preferred in snooker. The same holds true for...

    7 and the Last two

Your point is a great one. I might move the "break" to a better position in the list for this reason. Not that it gives the recipient a big advantage, but in the situation you mentioned, it would take AWAY a big one from the spotter. -td

    7 and the Last two

Respectfully disagree. @King - You've been here a while so you know this topic has been discussed many times. I'd be interested to know how you would put the last 2 in the list below. In my mind, the last 2 isn't much of a spot at all. There are a lot of spots in 9-ball and IMO, getting the...

    7 and the Last two

"Last 2" is one of the weakest spots in 9-ball. It means you win if you make one of the "last 2" balls on the table - regardless of what those 2 balls are (obviously one will be the 9). Say that the 6-7-9 are on the table. If make a 6-7 combo - there would still be 2 balls left on the table...

Used jump cue? Tips for non-dart method jumping?

I think he means using the shaft with either the middle part of the JB or removing the middle section and using the "back end" connected to the shaft. -td

Used jump cue? Tips for non-dart method jumping?

Nothing significant should change in terms of angle and contact on the cue ball. My recommendation: get out your phone and record from the side. Pay attention to the contact/angle on the dart and then check the difference when you shoot side arm. It takes some practice to get it right. But...

Used jump cue? Tips for non-dart method jumping?

If it jumps a close ball with a dart, then you can jump without a dart. Your symptoms seem to indicate technique issues and not equipment issues. I also suspect a perception issue between contact point when using normal vs dart method. IMO, I little coaching for $100 would be much better...

    Pool chalk

I wasn't aware of the other thread. Thanks! It helps narrow the issues (and I kinda wish it was mentioned!) If it's a personal room, just use Taom, Pag, Ghost, Pure, or the host of other new chalks. They are all cleaner and have less kicks. -td

    Pool chalk

Agreed on using a holder personally, but I thought the OP was asking for pool room chalk not individual. Dr V's clip is strong for sure. Not a fan of the chalk holder myself. -td

    Cues for Sale... Without Extensions

I wouldn’t avoid a nice cue solely based on the lack of ann extension. You can pretty much convert any cue to take an extension these days. I’ve done AE, Viking, Richard black, Frey, Mali, McDermott and a few others. I like the predator bullet pin extensions so I do that mostly. I also 3d...

What, in your opinion, is the minimum Fargo you should have before entering a WNT Open?

If the questions is whether open tournaments should have skill based entries, my answer is NO. No Fargo or other rating required by definition. If the question is whether someone should have minimum competence to compete in an open tournament, I leave this for you: -td
