How often do you replace cue tips?

I know this doesn't help but I used to do practically all the tips and ferrules and such for this and have probably close to ma thousand tips in stock of a bunch of different brands so I just change one when I feel like it.

    How straight is your shaft?

A cuemaker can see and feel any curvature while it spinning in the lathe. As for me personally as long as it doesn't flop I'm not worried about it. As has been said wood moves, I've always said we take a piece of natural wood tun it down in a parabolic taper and then beat the hell out of pool...

    Black Ferrules

The black ferrules you used to see on all the house cues and such were made of a material called fibre, it was a blend of cellulose and cotton fibers. This is the same material that McDermott used for years and years in a white version. It's a little soft but extremely tough. I don't remember...

    Shadiest Pool Hall

I was in a joint called The Coachman in Chattanooga one night and when I got ready to leave the bouncer said I couldn't leave and when I asked why he said they had booted a guy out and he was in the parking lot with a gun and they had the police coming. Another night I went to a joint called...

    Question about Jose Parica

I would take Nick Varner over Sigel in this list. Sigel lacked heart under pressure. He won a lot of tournaments because he played in a lot of tournaments. Put him heads up under pressure and he would be whining because he was a whiner.

    Biggest lies in pool stories

Are you sure his name was Micky and not Bucky?

    Is this legal?

Buddy Hall marked his shaft just above the joint to help know he turned the shaft the same way on each shot. Most shafts that have been played with a good bit will very often have a slight roll

Paging Dr. Dave! How did this scratch?

You're forgetting one of the primary rules of pool, 'You can scratch from anywhere.'

What do you believe are the nicest Smoke Free (Non Smoking / including a strict policy against Electric Cigarettes) Pool halls in America?

If the room is privately owned it is a private club and it should be up to the owner who has invest his life's worth quite often to decide if he allows smoking or not. If the customers don't like it they can go elsewhere and if business drops off enough the owner will change the rules.
