    Box cues

Yes, the inlays are called windows. The style of cue is usually called a box cue, at least I have never heard them referred to by any other name. I just assumed people knew what I was talking about. Tim Scruggs has made a few, McDermott made at least one design, I have seen this style by Richard...

    Box cues

I'm a big fan of box cue designs, I really like the clean elegant look. I have two questions for the cuemakers. 1. Most of the box cues I have seen have been very expensive compared to traditional points. Why is this? Are they more difficult/time consuming to build? 2. Why don't more...

Great job on your SE classic finish!

Congratulations on a great tournament Jenn! Billy Jay- You should apologize to Jenn, that was a very mean thing to say. Jenn is a great player and earned her wins.

Poll Test. Is Billy Jay a space alien?

He was posting on cartoon message boards (justice league, etc) for months before he joined AZB. He's just a kid who's dad is teaching him how to play pool, and he likes to watch the matches on tv. I admit I get a kick out of his posts, but I don't think he deserves the ridicule he is getting...

    For Sale: Searing Precision Cue

No, it wasn't you Joe. If a seller says in the auction that the item is up for sale locally, AND has a reserve price that is not met, then I have no problem if he ends his auction early. BUT if your reserve has been met, you have an obligation to the high bidder. You should tell your local buyer...

    For Sale: Searing Precision Cue

Bullshit. Reserves don't scare away someone who is truly interested in an item. He places his bid, if it's more than he wants to pay he moves on. I've bought and sold a lot of stuff on ebay, usually I set my starting price at the minimum I am willing to take. I've had sellers offer me items when...

    help

Shorty- I can't really speak for the hit, it's too subjective- it's not as stiff as my Joss. I can speak for the craftsmanship. I have been playing with a Zac for almost 3 years. The materials and workmanship are first class, imo. My Zac is a little more plain-jane, 6 long rosewood points...

    For Sale: Searing Precision Cue

What you are doing is scamming ebay and the honest bidders. You (and your friend) don't want to pay the reserve fees or the listing fees to protect your investment, so instead you shill for each other. Very unethical behavior. There is another cue seller who posts here and sells on ebay. His...

    An 8-ball break question.

If you hit that shot with inside english, the CB will have right hand (clockwise) spin coming off the side rail, which will usually take the CB down to the end rail. Right hand draw brings the CB back to the middle of the table as in the diagram.

How to make your own chalk?

Billiard chalk may have silica added for abrasiveness, I don't know. But chalk is Calcium Carbonate. (CaCO3, aka Calcite or Limestone) Silica is Silicon Dioxide (SiO2). They are very different. Silica is mostly found in clay, quartz, and sand. Limestone often has trace amounts of quartz mixed...

Very cool website JennBaretta. I can see why you are excited about it. I usually don't go for the all the flash and music stuff, but it all loaded right away and was tastefully done. Excellent graphics layout and pictures. The flying pool balls are very original. :) -CM

what kind of explanation /excuses to offer today?

Vag, you're not alone. I've heard 3 others with the same complaint in the last 24 hours. To give them credit, I've heard one user who didn't have a problem (Mike). BCN cannot rectify the problem by offering you the service at a later date when the server loads are down (like they have done in...
