World Top 200 Players by Fargo Rating (April2026)

Hopefully Mr. Orcollo will get back stateside if the payouts entice him so. I enjoyed watching him recently in some Heyball event.

    Still in second spot??

Ah yes, the good old days...good to see you're still on here Joe.

PBS St Louis 2026 (Men’s World 8 Ball Championship, Mixed Doubles, Women’s Open, Bank Pool), 1-8 April, Half Million Prize Fund

Is Dr. Dave secretly Wojciech Szewczyk with glasses? I can't help but see a similarity when both are over the ball.

    Southwest Satin Shaft

I saw one today on a South West collector's page on facebook, if you venture in those parts.

Lukas Verner wins WNT Ranking Event

Good confidence-builder for him to beat a player of Oi's level. It's been enjoyable watching his progression the last few years.

    Josh Treadway Custom Brother Cues

Nice shafts on 'em too. Bet they'll make solid playing cues.

    Amboyna Cash Cue

And thank you for the German translation so now I know how to say merry widow. My German is still decent but has started to desert me in middle age.

    Amboyna Cash Cue

Yes it's good cue playing-wise. Stiff butt taper and solidly built. The ferrule-less shaft is an adjustment for me when aiming, with no contrast for my eyes. I'm sure I could adjust if I wanted to make it my regular cue though.

    What's Your Fascination with Pool?

I thought Buddy was Jim Rempe sans mustache.

    Amboyna Cash Cue

This is the cue, it looks like you located it with a search: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/ca-h-cue-out-of-the-old-bill-mcdaniel-shop-in-jackson-tn.558821/

EUROPEAN OPEN 2026, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, March 10-15

I watched a handful of games and noticed Filler rolling his cue ball on some straight-ish shots. Maybe nothing more than taking extra caution in pocketing the ball, but have to wonder if he's not as confident in his stroke.

    Amboyna Cash Cue

I paid $750 for a merry widow with one shaft in test hit condition a few years back. I'd guess $750 - $950 is a reasonable estimate for this one.

    John Schmidt runs 820

I agree, and I think nowadays it would be tough for anyone who doesn't play it to be remotely interested in watching a whole match. I could see some younger rotation players watching a rack or two and then burying their faces in their phones.

Best to Say Nothing at All?

I generally say "good match" whatever the result. I think it shows respect to the opponent. When I play poorly and my opponent says the same I don't feel insulted; I already know it anyway.

3 Month Tall Ship Voyage ahead and looking for pool halls in port...

Good choice, it could be busy like everything seems to be in Florida, try for daytime to avoid the leagues.

3 Month Tall Ship Voyage ahead and looking for pool halls in port...

Sounds like quite an adventure. Plenty of pool in St. Pete, Brewlands Clearwater is probably closest with 20+ 7 & 9 ft. Diamonds, Crooked Cue in Largo is good but does allow smoking, Strokers in Palm Harbor a longer trek but great room too. You'll need a car or ride share to get to all as...

Towns in Florida with established halls with 9’ tables

I'll second what Freddie said. I think there around 10 rooms in Pinellas County all with 9 footers. Then some more on the Tampa side of the bay.

    Griff's 2026 US Open events

Roland Garcia was playing Gorst and pocketed a pretty sick object ball jump to continue his inning. I'll try to find a link.

    Mosconi 2026 and Orlando

Enjoy the Cup and visit. I'll only add that Orlando traffic is not good for one's blood pressure, and it may be hot even in Nov-Dec. Hopefully some locals chime in regarding rooms within a reasonable drive; I don't get over there often enough to know.
