Oops I did it again (Yapp's) foul in a final, a second time!

If the OB and CB were a centimeter apart and the shooter shoots directly through the line connecting the centers of balls with a level cue, and the CB immediately goes forward at 10mph after impact, you don’t think that’s enough evidence to rule a double hit? Much easier to observe the CB path...

Oops I did it again (Yapp's) foul in a final, a second time!

For these kind of shots where the post-impact CB path could give a clear indication of a good or bad hit, do you think it would be a good idea if referees inform players of the criteria of a good/bad hit before the shot is taken? For example, for Yapp's shot, the ref would stop the shot clock...

Oops I did it again (Yapp's) foul in a final, a second time!

Of course. We do it all the time with double hits when the CB and OB are very close together. Just observe the path of the CB after collision. This situation with Yapp on the 8-ball is less obvious, but fundamentally no different. Knowledge of physics provides a definitive answer. And in this...

“Less Lucky” Version of 10 Ball?

I think I may have helped initiate the move to kill this version of 10-ball 18 years ago...lol... https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/world-ten-ball-rules-announced-is-9-ball-wc-history-now.87678/#post-1038072 (too bad the very old WEI tables don't work anymore) EDIT: Nevermind. The version...

WNT PREMIER LEAGUE OF POOL 2026, Miami, Fla, Feb. 18-22

Congrats to Duong. Almost choked it away, but glad he crossed the finish line.

WNT PREMIER LEAGUE OF POOL 2026, Miami, Fla, Feb. 18-22

These races to 7 in the semi-finals and finals are so idiotic, considering all the pool that was played up to that point.

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

This is the Mosconi Cup. This is exactly the atmosphere that we need. In any other individual tournament, sure, keep the crowd banter to a minimum. But in a team event like this with this much history, let the crowd make some noise. Yes, even while down on the shot. I believe the refs were...

Shark Move Part 58 - Verbal Concession

It's a shark move, not a concession. Anyone willing to rake the balls thinking that's an automatic concession is playing with fire. Not worth the risk. I would directly ask my opponent if he's conceding the rack. If he denies it, then clearly indicate that he's sharking and that won't be tolerated.

kelly fisher wins women's heyball world championship

I didn't know either until I saw it on her wiki page (assuming it's accurate). Apparently she won in 2001 and 2003... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Fisher

kelly fisher wins women's heyball world championship

Fisher has a resume like no other. So she has world championship titles in 9-ball, 10-ball, snooker, English billiards, and now heyball? Crazy.

    Philippine Open

Crazy to witness so many botched *EASY* hill-hill 9 balls in one tournament. First it was Duong, then Gorst, now Shaw. Weird.

    Philippine Open

Congrats to Alcaide. Loved seeing him win this. I believe he's the only one from his generation (born in the 70s) who still remains very competitive. Interesting that David wouldn't be champion if Sucal didn't choke in that hill-hill rack much earlier in the tournament. But karma seems to have...

Oh, thanks for the clarification. Interesting because I don't see anything especially peculiar with Sucal's stroke.

If you're talking about Busty, it sounds like you've never seen him play before.

    Philippine Open

Gosh, those last few balls from the Busty/Gorst match eerily reminded me of the last few balls of the infamous Hall/Lebron match. Anyone have big money on Busty winning that match? Lol. Just can't imagine Gorst missing such an easy 9 like that. I don't think I've ever seen Gorst miss so many...

    Philippine Open

I would like to see tournaments that transition from DE to SE use what I'd like to call an "adaptive race" in the SE stage, where the race length changes if an undefeated player matches up with a player already with a loss. For example, if both players are undefeated or both players have one...

2025 Reyes Cup, Oct 16-19, Manilla. Team Asia vs Team World

WTF is the only thing that popped in my head as well. I can't imagine MR asking them to do this and risk damaging/unleveling the table, possibly delaying subsequent matches. But then again I can't imagine any of the individual players instigating this action. Well, maybe with the exception of...

    Reyes cup 2025.

I agree both are great commentators. It's just too bad their voices sound too darn similar...lol. I have to listen closely for the presence/absence of the subtle Texan twang in order to determine whether Frost or JJ is talking. Or maybe it's just me.

2025 Reyes Cup, Oct 16-19, Manilla. Team Asia vs Team World

Begs the question...who in his age group today do you consider a future world champion, if any? Given the current crop of teenagers, I can think of only two others off the top of my head in AJ's class...Kledio Kaci and Albert Januarta. Moritz (21) and Bernie Reglario (20) aren't technically...

2025 Reyes Cup, Oct 16-19, Manilla. Team Asia vs Team World

Is it just me, or does Team ROW that has Europeans teaming up with Americans take away from the extraordinary rivalry of the Mosconi Cup? Just doesn't feel right seeing Sky on the same team as FSR and Shaw, not to mention JJ coaching mostly Europeans. What exactly is the pride of a "Rest of...
