Pallet of new cues for sale at 20 cues per box for $100 ($5/cue) --- Comments?

Drop $100 on a box of them. Keep one in your case at all times. When you get pissed off, take one out, put it together and snap it over your knee. Repeat. :)

    Longer cue for big tables?

Here is my take on longer cues/playing full time with extensions; About 7 years ago I tried out a long, probably 8 inch extension, for the hell of it in a 9 ball tournament. I shot super straight, made long shots seem easier and I won the fairly big tournament. So, after that I was on the...

Mosconi Cup 2025, Dec. 3-6, Alexandra Palace, London

Tyler has dogged 3 hill-hill 9 balls. Score could be 4-4 easily. Leave him off the team next year. Get someone that can handle pressure.

    League Play pattern

League scoring is weird... it works out in the end after a session of many (20+) weeks, but in that time even the top players will have horrendous nights where the rolls don't go their way and/or they miss a shot they really should make. It seems I always have a slump during our league (27...

I need breaking technique in 8-ball as I get older.

Second ball. If you hit it really good you'll likely make a ball. If you hit it ok to crappy, you'll likely not make anything and leave a mess. I did a long term experiment a few years ago in my 8 ball league; For a whole season (about 125 games of 8 ball with me breaking 50% of them)... 1...

    Pool play that irritates you!

SLOW PLAY. Most everything else I can tolerate. I'd love to play in a 8 ball tournament with a 20 second shot clock, with maybe one 20 second extension per rack. And 20 seconds doesn't give you time to annoy me much, so do whatever you want!

Not 25, but rather 24 of them because that's how many come from a carton. 12*2. I've been guilty in the distant pass of making that many and eating them in a single evening.

Why do pool players need so much time?

I HATE slow play and would love to play with shot clocks all the time for 8/9/10 ball. As Bob said, Chess Clocks (placed between the players) would be the way to go. It accomplishes two things; Speed up the match, duh. and Focuses people to get away from the table when their inning is over...

What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

I like this drill for a quick warm up... gets you focused enough to play well for a match and promotes a smooth stroke. Not that difficult from the baulk line, but gets tricky if you move the line of balls back a diamond.

After you win a game a pool...

Yeah, Karl asked him why he didn't jump on the table and he said he hurt his leg/knee jumping off last time.

    Biggest lies in pool stories

I definitely paid my way though many a drinking Saturday night play pool for drinks in university. I had a run of 20+ games won in a row (not runs, just wins) on a bar box playing for a beer each time. After about 8, I was giving most of them to my friends.

How do we think a modern CF break shaft would perform on an old brass jointed Adam cue?

Shouldn't be an issue if it's a quality shaft. I've been playing with an Adam cue with a LD wood (original OB-1 ... on my third) for over 15 years. Works perfect for me, but obviously I'm super used to it.

Commentators talking about anything but the match in front of them

Ever watch a weather forecast on a long weekend? They let the super junior/beginners have a chance and they almost always mess multiple things up during a 3 minute report. Talking in front of a camera/mic isn't as simple as the good announcer make it look.

Do you shoot pool with a hat on?

    I 100% can't shoot with a ball cap on. Maybe I could with a hat with a brim that is about 50% the length. A balding 700ish local player plays with one like this;
