    Player's who quit pool early

Another early quitter: I was thinking the same thing as Huckster about how many really talented players quit at a young age. There was a player from lower Michigan named Mark Beilfus that played really good. That was probably over 30 years ago about the same time as Bobby Hunter was playing...

    Diamond Ten Ball Invitational

I didn't read all the suggestions, but I thought: "U.S. 10 Ball Invitational" I think the title would be fitting and good for years to come. Forgive me if this was suggested already. JMO Curly

Are safeties must be called at 10ball?

I agree with you 100%! I really enjoyed playing the old rules..push-out anytime with the 2 shot foul rule. Also cue ball in hand in the kitchen on a foul rather than anywhere on the table. We would practice spot shots for hours cuz it was a crucial shot especially if someone scratched on the...

Brandon Shuff vs John Morra - Race to 8 Ten Ball Video

Thanks Thanks Lenny for the stream. Shuff and Morra are two very good, young players that are very talented. I also really enjoyed Ken Schuman's commentary also. Ken is a real asset to the game. I hope he continues contributing to the game that he loves so much. Also, thank you Lenny for...

    Names from the past

Yes JG, I think you're right! Tony Howard was his name. I was also thinking of Tommy Brown (also had one eye I think) of Florida who was also at Forest Park Billiards back in '74. I recall Tommy playing Hickerson from Indianapolis there. What a fantastic tournament there! That was the first...

    Names from the past

Thanks Jay I recall some of the players that you mentioned..didn't know them personally. Paul Baker - I saw him at Derby City #10 the last time it was at the Executive West. I think his nickname was "Highway Baker" IIRC. Tommy Parker - Great 14.1 player and gentleman from Cleveland. One...

Did you know this about Buddy Hall, The man!!!

Thanks Thanks for posting the link to the video. I really enjoyed it. It's a pleasure to watch how easy Buddy made the game look but we all know it isn't! I was at Forest Park Billiards in Dayton when Buddy won the 9 ball in 1974 IIRC. It was (I think) one of the first tournaments that he...

    Cleveland pool halls

Some places to play in Cleveland Art, there's a Tuesday nite tournament at Wickliffe Lanes on the east side. They have 12 Brunswick Anniversary tables. They also have pool leagues on Wed and Thurs nites so there usually aren't any open tables after 7:00 pm on those nites. Wickliffe...
