I aim the jump shot as if I was shooting without a ball in the way. Then I elevate the cue without moving my stance and execute the jump. This seems to help my aim. And as others suggested Center ball hit.

I have ivory ferrules on my Josey. I like the hit but it is a matter of opinion. Never had one crack or break and I don't have the pads under the tips. I think that you will find maybe different opinions on the hit of a ivory ferrule. Just as with any cue , tip , joint type some will like 1...

The Baby Lizard took me a bit to get use to it. I had stacked leather on my last cue. The baby lizard can get a little slick on those hot , humid days but usually not to bad. It does have a very nice feel.

Thanks for the compliment on the cues , and I would never make fun of a Northern'er especially from NJ. My good friend and fellow player is from NJ:wink: and I don't want him mad at me. He is always good for a few bucks.

Just because you may be able to build a cue , that doesnt mean that it will play well. It could look GREAT and play awful. The butt construction of a cue has alot to do with how that cue plays.

The Josey sneaky would be a good option. $400 you could add a few of your own touches to it and Josey cues hit awesome and the quality in his sneaky petes are the same high quality as his high end customs.
