From "aim by feel" to "aim at a point"

I use the tanget line as a reference and subconsciously a point on the rail for the cue ball to hit. There are variables for straight in or near straight in shots.

From "aim by feel" to "aim at a point"

I aim based upon the deflection of the cue ball from the object balls path to the pocket.

Taking the Pocket Out of Aiming

Everything else aside I’ve used this visualization and have had success with little practice. I’ve even made banks with it. I need to spend more time with it in practice. Go figure.

Taking the Pocket Out of Aiming

I’ve discovered that by not focusing on the intended pocket to the point that it dominates aiming has helped me tremendously. I have narrowed aiming down to strike the object ball and sending it on a path has produced better results than having to concentrate on cue ball, object ball and...

Predator world tour - St. Louis going on now.

Yes. Joe will draw a lot of flies like a dead animal on the side of the road. Possibly some buzzards as well.

The scheduling of matches this event is terrible.

    Low English

I don’t think you got my point. I know what low does at different speeds.

    Low English

I getting more out of my game using low English on stop shots, draw and even position on shots that are at various angles. I don’t fully understand why unless I’m eliminating a loot ov variables that affect my contact with the object ball.

    Ultimate Pool USA 2026 Iowa

Iowa…can’t get there from here! Reminds me of league play for some reason. Maybe it’s the table size or the garish shirts that remind me of the movie “Three Billboards…”

Was pool better 50 years ago?

“people virtually lived in the pool rooms. they were full of characters and fun, and it was what they did every day. not so anymore.“ Absolutely on point. It was a culture in and of itself. Characters right out dime novels. No big blousy logo sponsor jerseys. No made up nicknames or aliases...

    Roland Garcia at Griffs

The commentators spoke about the slowness of matches. It got to a point it was on my TV screen but I was preoccupied with my iPhone.

Over hyped and under performed. I can think of dozens in the sports world that met that fate. She only has to do one thing—- PROVE IT!

SJM at the Las Vegas Open

It like she’s becoming the side show at the fair or the circus.

SJM at the Las Vegas Open

I haven’t read all the posts on Savannah and I want to make one last comment or suggestion. Walk away from the table for a period of time. Find something else to do with your time. Clear your head then come back to the table and don’t analyze each and every move. Line up and stroke the ball. Get...

    Clicking sound.

Richard Black cues were known to make a clicking sound on impact. The response from opponents (sight unseen) was “oh, I hear you’re playing with a Richard Black”.

Whose dream are they chasing? Theirs or Savannah’s. I’ve seen it in a lot of families. Watch the ESPN series entitled ‘Busted’. Part of it involves the family’s relationship with the successful pro athlete.

SJM at the Las Vegas Open

I’ve been watch Savannah in all of her matches. She has digressed from where she was months ago. I contribute a lot to her body language. Her shoulders, body and facial expressions are not positive. It’s almost like she has a poor me’ attitude. Just an observation from a 79 year old who’s been...
